No kick capped off a more exciting game than Tucker’s 47-yard game- winning field goal over the Denver Broncos in the AFC divisional round. The field goal came in the second overtime of one of the most memorable games in franchise history. Tucker’s field goal gave the Ravens a 38-35 victory after Jacoby Jones hauled in a 70-yard touchdown during the final seconds of regulation. The game is known as the Mile High Miracle.
Tucker again proved just how valuable he was by coming up with a pair
of big kicks in Super Bowl XLVII. As the Ravens saw their big lead start
to evaporate in the second half against the 49ers, Tucker hit clutch kicks that turned out to be the difference. Tucker connected on field goals of
19 and 38 yards in the fourth quarter, and the Ravens ended up winning 34-31 to bring home the second Lombardi Trophy in franchise history.
Tucker’s first high-pressure kick came in the third game of his NFL career. After making the roster as an undrafted rookie, Tucker had a 27-yard
game- winning field goal attempt against the New England Patriots. It was
the Ravens’ first game against the Patriots since losing to New England
in the AFC championship the previous season, when kicker Billy Cundiff missed a 32-yard field goal in the final seconds.
Tucker seems to play his best on the biggest stages, and he showed that with a night to remember on Monday Night Football. With 43 seconds left to play
on the road against the Detroit Lions, Tucker drilled a 61-yard game winner. The kick was an exclamation point on a remarkable performance, where Tucker hit a franchise-record six field goals in the 18-16 victory. With that performance, Tucker became the only player in NFL history to kick field goals from 20, 30, 40, 50 and 60 yards in a single game.
The start of the 2015 season could not have gone much worse for the Ravens as they lost their first three games, but Tucker delivered a boost in Week 4 against the rival Steelers. The Steelers looked like they had the game won late in the fourth quarter, but Tucker delivered a pair of dagger field goals to silence the crowd at Heinz Field. Tucker hit a 42-yard game-tying field goal in the final seconds of regulation, and then he won it with a 52-yard field goal in overtime. As Tucker walked off the field after the game winner, he said, “As I’m lining the ball up, I see their fans leaving the stands, so if they know it’s good, we certainly know.”
