Eric Liu is a member of BlackRock’s global fixed income and credit platform. He is a portfolio manager and lead credit analyst for China with oversight over onshore and offshore China credit research. Prior to joining BlackRock in 2016, Liu was a portfolio manager and credit analyst at Aberdeen Asset Management in Singapore, responsible for co-managing Asia Credit funds. Previously, he held a variety of positions covering public debt, private debt, private equity as well as structured products. Liu holds a MBA from Insead in finance and earned a Bachelor of Engineering degree from Nanyang Technological University. Liu is a CFA and FRM charterholder.
Artur Piasecki is a senior member of BlackRock’s Asian Credit team and is a portfolio manager with a focus on total return strategies. He is the lead portfolio manager for the BGF Asian High Yield Bond fund and co-portfolio manager for the BGF China Bond fund. He manages the Asia arms of the Strategic Income Opportunities and Fixed Income Global Opportunities funds. In addition, he is part of the portfolio management team for the BGF Asian Tiger Bond fund and the BlackRock Asian Floating Rate Income fund. Prior to joining BlackRock in 2009, Piasecki was at R3 Capital Partners, where he was responsible for the management of Asian credit and equity-linked portfolios. Piasecki earned a master’s in international relations and foreign trade from Poznań University of Economics and Business and a master’s in international business economics from Aalborg University.
Andrew Norelli is a managing director and a member of the global fixed income, currency & commodities group at JP Morgan Asset Management, based in Columbus. He is a portfolio manager for several multi-asset fixed income funds and is a member of the asset allocation committee for the investor funds. Prior to joining the firm in 2012, Norelli was at Morgan Stanley for 11 years where he most recently served as a co-head of the firm’s emerging markets credit trading desk. He graduated from Princeton University with a BA in economics.
Peter Khan is portfolio manager at Fidelity. He joined the firm in 2000 as a trader and was promoted to head of trading in 2003. Khan became a portfolio manager in 2009 and has been responsible for a number of global fixed income portfolios, including Fidelity’s Global High Yield and Global Income funds. Prior to Fidelity, he was with HypoVereinsbank as the head of trading for the London Eurobond desk. Khan has an MBA in finance and international business from the Stern School of Business at New York University.
Gershon Distenfeld started his career in 1997 at Lehman Brothers as an emerging markets operations analyst, and in 1998 joined AllianceBernstein as a high-yield trader. He then started managing high-yield portfolios and is currently director of high yield. He holds a BA in finance from the Sy Syms School of Business at Yeshiva University in New York and is a CFA charterholder.
Paul DeNoon joined Alliance Capital as a portfolio manager in 1992 and currently takes charge of the AllianceBernstein American Income fund. Prior to joining Alliance Capital, DeNoon spent six years working for Manufacturers Hanover Trust as an economist and ultimately portfolio manager. He started his career with two years as an economic research analyst at Lehman Brothers. DeNoon holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Union College, Schenectady, New York, and a master’s degree in finance from New York University.
Douglas Peebles is the chief investment officer of Alliance Bernstein’s fixed income business in New York and is directly responsible for supervising all fixed income mandates. He joined AllianceBernstein in 1987, and became director of fixed income in 1997. From 2004 to 2008 Peebles was co-head of fixed income before taking on his current role in August 2008. He is also chairman of the interest rates and currencies research review team which is responsible for setting interest rate and currency policy for all fixed income portfolios. Peebles graduated from Muhlenberg College in Pennsylvania with a BA and from Rutgers University in New Jersey with an MBA.
Matthew Sheridan graduated from Syracuse University in New York with a Bachelor’s degree in finance. He started his career with AllianceBernstein in 1998 working in the structured asset securities group. Sheridan is currently a senior vice president and portfolio manager within the global fixed income and emerging market debt team. He is a CFA charterholder.
Mark Davids is managing director at JP Morgan Asset Management. He previously co-managed the JPM UK Smaller Companies fund, the Luxembourg-domiciled JPM Europe Small Cap and JPM Europe Recovery funds. He then moved to Japan to run the group’s Core Japan Behavioural Finance fund and currently manages the Asia Pacific ex Japan Behavioural Finance and Japan Strategic Value funds. Davids joined JP Morgan as an investment analyst in 1997. He was promoted to assistant investment manager in 2000 and then to investment manager a year later. He has a bachelor’s degree in history and German from the University of Manchester, and a master’s degree in international political economy. Davids spent a stint focusing on trade and external relations at the European Commission before joining JP Morgan.
Bin Shi is a member of the global emerging market and Asia-Pacific equities team at UBS Asset Management, located in Hong Kong. He is a country analyst and portfolio manager for China, with a focus on Chinese stocks listed on both the overseas and domestic Chinese stock exchanges. Prior to joining UBS, he spent three years as head of international business, portfolio manager and analyst with Boshi Fund Management, one of the largest domestic mutual fund companies in China. Prior to that, he worked in the US for eight years as a portfolio manager and analyst for several mutual fund firms. He joined UBS in January 2006 and has managed its Greater China Equity fund since April 2006.
Louisa Lo graduated from the University of Melbourne with a Bachelor’s degree in commerce and graduated from Macquarie University with a master’s degree in applied finance. Lo joined Schroders in 1996 in the Hong Kong office and is currently the head of Asia excluding Japan equity. She is also the manager of regional institutional portfolios. Prior to joining Schroders, Lo spent three years working as a research analyst with securities firms where she focused on regional electronics stocks. She has been managing funds for over 16 years and is a chartered financial analyst.
Fabio Riccelli runs the Fidelity European Dynamic Growth fund and applies a growth investment style and use of index futures, which have let him to get an annual portfolio turnover of 40%. Riccelli has been working for Fidelity since 1998 when he joined as research analyst and became portfolio manager seven years later. He studied finance at the University of Manchester and holds the Investment Management Certificate.
Dev Chakrabarti is a portfolio manager and senior research analyst for AllianceBernstein’s Concentrated Global Growth fund. Prior to joining in December 2013, he was a portfolio manager and analyst on the global equity research and portfolio-management team at WPS Advisors. Chakrabarti joined WP Stewart in 2005 as a member of the European equity research and portfolio management team, and moved to New York in 2008 to focus on global portfolios. Earlier in his career, he worked as a mergers and acquisitions analyst at Merrill Lynch, a financial analyst at Unilever and an equity analyst at JP Morgan Securities, where he specialized in European technology stocks. Chakrabarti holds a BSc in economics from the University of Bristol and an MSc in finance from London Business School.
Mark Phelps is the chief investment officer of concentrated global growth at AllianceBernstein. He joined WP Stewart in 2005 and became managing director of Global Investments in 2007. He has over two decades of experience in investment research and portfolio management. Prior to joining WP Stewart he held senior positions with Dresdner Bank both in London and San Francisco. Most recently he served as chief investment officer for global equities at Dresdner RCM in San Francisco. Phelps holds a BA in economics from the University of York. He completed his graduate training at Sandhurst, serving in the armed forces for three years between 1981 and 1984.
Anuj Arora is a managing director and portfolio manager within the emerging markets and Asia Pacific equities team at JP Morgan Asset Management, based in London. He joined the firm in 2006 and is responsible for managing the GEM Diversified fund, as well as overseeing all aspects of research related to quantitative strategies within the emerging markets and Asia Pacific equities team, including asset allocation and risk management. Prior to joining the firm, Arora was a quantitative analyst for Mesirow Financial and an analyst at Birkelbach Investment Securities. He graduated from the Illinois Institute of Technology with an MSc in finance.
Sonal Tanna graduated from the London School of Economics with a BSc in economics and political science. She started her career with JP Morgan Asset Management in 1999 and is currently a vice president and fund manager for emerging Europe, Middle East and African portfolios within the emerging markets equity team based in London. Tanna is a holder of the CFA designation.
Richard Titherington has worked at JP Morgan since 1986, and is now the chief investment officer and head of the emerging markets equity team. Titherington began his career as an analyst at UKPI, before moving to JP Morgan, where he also runs a number of emerging market funds. Previously based in Hong Kong, he now lives in London, and holds an MA in politics, philosophy and economics from the University of Oxford.
Stephan Werner is quantitative analyst for global commodities. He joined Deutsche Asset Management in 2007 as a member of the basic materials team.
Makoto Egami joined Comgest’s Tokyo office in 2013 and is an analyst and portfolio manager within the Japanese equity team, identifying quality growth stocks for the strategy. He started his career in 2001 at JP Morgan Chase in Tokyo as a credit analyst and went on to work for US-based Taiyo Pacific Partners as an investment professional before moving on to Macquarie as a Japanese small- and mid-cap analyst. Egami also held the position of senior industry analyst at Google Japan. He graduated from Keio University with a BA in economics and holds an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management, and holds a CMA from the Securities Analysts Association of Japan.
Richard Kaye joined Comgest in 2009 as an analyst and portfolio manager, bringing with him a wealth of experience in Japanese equities. Upon joining Comgest, he became co-lead of its Japan equity strategy. Starting his career in 1994 as an analyst with the Industrial Bank of Japan, Kaye joined Merrill Lynch in the same role in 1996. In 2005 he moved to the Wellington Management Company in Boston as a portfolio manager of Japanese TMT stocks. Kaye graduated from Oxford University, where he majored in oriental studies.
Chantana Ward is an analyst and portfolio manager within Comgest’s Japanese equity team. Based in Paris, she travels regularly to Japan to research companies and spend time with the Tokyo-based team members. Ward co-leads funds within Comgest’s Asia and Japan equity funds and has been an important contributor to the development of these strategies. Ward holds an MSc in finance from Baruch College’s Zicklin School of Business in New York, a dual diploma with the American University of Paris.
Erica Lau is a portfolio manager at Lion Global Investors. She has over 14 years’ experience in the financial industry. She is an Asian equities fund manager with a focus on Singapore, having previously covered US equities. Before joining, she was an investment manager at JPMorgan Chase, based in New York. She has also held positions in investment and treasury management at Temasek Holdings and NatSteel Singapore. Lau has an MBA from Yale School of Management and a Bachelor of Business Administration from the National University of Singapore. She is a CFA charterholder.
Samantha Lau works at AllianceBernstein as co-chief investment officer of small- and mid-cap growth equities. Previously, she was a portfolio manager and analyst responsible for research and portfolio management for the technology sector of the firm’s Small Cap Growth fund. Prior to joining the firm in 1999, Lau was responsible for covering small-cap technology companies for Invesco from 1997 to 1999 and was a healthcare securities analyst for three years at Goldman Sachs. She holds a bachelor’s degree in finance and accounting from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and is a CFA charterholder.
Lei Qiu is a portfolio manager on AllianceBernstein’s International Technology fund and a senior research analyst for the Thematic & Sustainable Equities funds, focusing on the technology, media and telecom (TMT) sectors. Prior to joining the firm in 2012, she was the founder and managing partner for three years of Phidias Capital Management, a TMT-focused asset-management company. From 2003 to 2009, Qiu was a general partner and senior research analyst at Andor Capital Management, and from 2000 to 2002 she was a research analyst at Chilton Investment Company. Qiu holds a BA in economics from Smith College and an MA in business economics from Harvard University.
James Tierney is Chief Investment Officer of Concentrated US Growth at AllianceBernstein. Prior to joining in December 2013, he was chief investment officer at WP Stewart & Co. He began his career in 1988 in equity research at JP Morgan Investment Management, where he analysed entertainment, healthcare and finance companies. He left JP Morgan in 1990 to pursue an MBA and returned in 1992 as a senior analyst covering energy, transportation, media and entertainment. Tierney holds a degree in finance from Providence College and an MBA from Columbia Business School at Columbia University.
Timothy Parton is a portfolio manager in the U.S. Equity Group at JP Morgan Asset Management. An employee since 1986, Parton has managed a variety of small and mid cap portfolios. He has been managing the U.S. Midcap Growth strategy, which includes the JPMorgan Midcap Growth Fund and the U.S. Multicap Growth strategy, which includes the JPMorgan Growth Advantage Fund. Parton holds a B.Sc. in economics and accounting from the University of Bristol in England. He is a member of the New York Society of Security Analysts and is a CFA charterholder.
Eytan Shapiro has seventeen years of portfolio management experience. He started his career as an investment analyst at Philips & Drews in London. Shapiro joined JP Morgan in 1985 and is now portfolio manager in the US Equity Group. He is responsible for managing the JPM US Smaller Companies fund. Eytan focuses on a fundamental strategy that employs a bottom-up stock selection process by investing in high-quality growth companies. Shapiro obtained a BSc in Economics from City University, London and an MPhil in Economics from Oxford University. He is a member of the New York Society of Security Analysts and the Association for Investment Management and Research, and is a CFA charterholder.
Guy Barnard started his career in 2003 at UBS in financial control and in 2006 he joined Henderson Global Investors where he started as an analyst in property equities. Since 2008 he has been a fund manager in property equities (public markets). Barnard graduated from Loughborough University with a BSc in mathematics and management, and is a chartered financial analyst and a member of the CFA society.
Tim Gibson is co-head of global property equities and a portfolio manager at Janus Henderson Investors, a position he has held since 2014. He has been with Henderson, based in Singapore, since 2011. Prior to joining Henderson, Gibson was a European fund manager at AMP Capital Brookfield, where he was responsible for portfolio construction and execution of an indirect real estate fund. Before this, he worked as an analyst for Morgan Stanley on their European real estate investment team, in London and Amsterdam, where he provided investment recommendations on property companies in the UK and Europe. Tim holds a degree in economics from the University of St Andrews and received the Robert T Jones scholarship to the University of Western Ontario.
Ricardo Adrogué is head of Barings’ emerging markets debt group. He is co-portfolio manager for the Emerging Markets Local Debt and Blended Total Return Debt funds. Prior to joining the firm in 2013, he worked at Wellington Management, where he worked on the Emerging Local Debt fund and managed over $11bn. Before Wellington, Adrogué worked at the International Monetary Fund conducting inflation modeling work for central banks. He previously worked as a senior economist and strategist for Panama and Peru, and for New York University as an adjunct professor of Latin American economics. Adrogué holds a BA in economics from the Universidad Católica Argentina, an MA in economics and a PhD from the University of California.
Cem Karacadag is the head of Barings’ emerging markets sovereign debt group. He is a co-manager of its Emerging Markets Sovereign Debt fund and backup manager for the Emerging Markets Local Debt fund. Karacadag has worked in the industry since 1994 and his experience includes sovereign credit analysis, macroeconomic policy research and advice, and emerging markets fixed income strategy. Prior to joining the firm in 2014, Karacadag was at OppenheimerFunds, where he worked on sovereign hard currency and local currency investments in Eastern Europe and Asia. Before Oppenheimer, he worked at Credit Suisse covering emerging market sovereigns in Asia and Latin America, and at the International Monetary Fund, where he focused on monetary policy instruments, exchange rate policy and bank restructuring in China, Indonesia and Eastern Europe. He also held positions at Standard & Poor’s and the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. Karacadag holds a BA in economics from Tufts University and an MA in international economics and European studies from Johns Hopkins University.
Sander Bus is the co-head of the credit team at Robeco. Bus joined Robeco as a portfolio manager in 1998, having previously worked as an analyst in the fixed income sector at Rabobank International. He manages the Robeco High Yield Bonds fund, a long-term strategy that holds global high-yield bonds. He graduated from the Erasmus University Rotterdam with a degree in finance.
Joanna Kwok is a regional specialist for Asia Pacific ex-Japan equities with the emerging markets and Asia Pacific equities team at JP Morgan, based in Hong Kong. She joined the firm in 2002 as an analyst with the Hong Kong bond team and took up her current role in 2005. Prior to joining the firm, Joanna spent three years with PricewaterhouseCoopers in London, where she qualified as a chartered accountant, and one year in Hong Kong as a senior associate in their banking and capital markets division. Joanna obtained a BA in natural sciences from Downing College, Cambridge.
James Govan joined Barings as an investment analyst on the Global Resources fund in 2008 and was promoted to investment manager in 2010. He is the lead manager of the Baring Global Agriculture fund. Prior to Barings, Govan worked as an assistant fund manager on a UK equity long/short hedge fund at BC Asset Management between June 2002 and January 2008. He holds a BSc in banking and international finance from Cass Business School, City University, London. He was awarded the Investment Management Certificate in 2002 and the CFA designation in 2006.
Kai Kong is managing director and senior portfolio manager for Greater China equities at Manulife Asset Management. Based in Hong Kong, he oversees the Greater China equity desk. Chay has more than 17 years’ investment experience covering Greater China markets, including 14 years as a portfolio manager. His career spans lead manager roles at Reliance Asset Management in Singapore and Standard Life Investments (Asia) in Hong Kong. Chay holds a bachelor of accountancy from Nanyang Technological University.
Martin Lau is a managing partner for First State Investments, based in Hong Kong. He started his investment career in 1995 at BZW in London as part of their risk management team. He subsequently spent six years with Invesco as a fund manager responsible for the greater China funds, Smaller Companies fund and regional portfolios. Lau currently manages a range of China and Asia funds for First State. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree and a master’s in Engineering from the University of Cambridge, and is a CFA charterholder.
Sophia Li is a portfolio manager at First State Stewart Asia, part of First State Investments. Li joined the team in August 2009 and is responsible for providing stock ideas to portfolio managers, primarily in the Northern Asia markets. She is also lead manager of the First State Japan Equity fund. Li holds a master’s degree in statistics from Harvard University and a Bachelor of Science degree from Fudan University. She is also a CFA charterholder.
Denny Fish is a portfolio manager at Janus Henderson Investors, with responsibility for co-managing the Global Technology fund. He also serves as a research analyst and leads the firm’s technology sector research team. Prior to rejoining Janus in 2016, Fish served as a technology equity analyst and co-portfolio manager at RS Investments. From 2007 to 2014, he was an equity research analyst and co-team leader of the Janus technology research sector team. Earlier in his career, he worked at Oracle Corporation as a technology sales manager.
Judith Vale is a graduate of Yale University. She started out in the fund management world over 25 years ago, working as an analyst at Ingalls & Snyder in 1980. After a seven-year stint, Vale moved on to Merrill Lynch Asset Management in 1987, and then to Quest Advisory in 1990. She later moved to Neuberger Berman and is currently running the US Small Cap fund.
