We are working closely with our host venue on Covid safe measures as we return to physical events and the in-person engagement that we have all missed. Our Covid protocols will reflect the local requirements at the time of the event and our Delegate Liaison team will be in touch in the weeks before with exact details of what these will be. Citywire Impact Retreat
We are delighted to be launching the inaugural Citywire Impact Retreat - our first ever retreat highlighting ESG considerations, ethical screening, positive impact and all things sustainability within the context of both portfolio management and the world at large.
This is your invitation to join us on 5-6 May at the Four Seasons Hotel, Hampshire for one of the most anticipated retreats of the year, during which we will be delving into the challenges that we as an industry face in creating a financial system that works for all stakeholders, including people and planet.
As with all our residential retreats, there is no charge for attending (which is strictly by invitation only) and you will earn up to 8 hours of structured CPD.
We will be bringing together sustainability thought-leaders in wealth management for an event that will feature our usual full programme of keynote speakers, workshop sessions with leading fund managers in the space and, of course, the opportunity to network with trailblazing peers.
Our speaker line-up includes:
- Kicking things off will be the World Economic Forum's Head of Cities and Urban Development, Alice Charles. An experienced speaker on environment, infrastructure, climate change and urbanisation, she will be discussing how city leaders can future proof their urban areas, and effectively prepare to increase technology usage in smart city implementation. Globally, she is a leading thinker in urban development with over 18 years in the industry, and her address will include examples of her ideas which highlight their impact.
- In the afternoon we’ll be joined by Danae Kyriakopolou, a specialist in the intersection of climate and economic development. She is currently a senior policy fellow at the Grantham Research Institute on Climate Change and the Environment, and is a regular contributor on green finance issues for the BBC, CNN and Bloomberg. Her address will explore the benefits of a financial system that is both inclusive and sustainable, and the role of financial institutions in providing self-regulation and accountability when it comes to green finance.
- Joining us for some after dinner laughs will be the hilarious Jen Brister. A rising star on the comedy circuit, and with a desire to highlight important topics through her comedy, she is sure to provide a side-splitting finale to the first day. A quick witted and topical performer, you may have enjoyed her previously on Live at the Apollo and Live at the Comedy Store.
On Friday morning we will hear from Alison Benjamin, a leading journalist and environmentalist who has devoted her career to raising awareness of the environmental necessity that is protecting bees. Throughout her 20-year career at the Guardian, she held the roles of Environment Editor and Deputy Editor. Her reflection on the impact of bees and our need to save them will be complemented by a wider expertise on social issues, sustainability, biodiversity and the environment as a whole.
While the task at hand is a formidable one, we can't wait to get together and continue the work of forging a fairer path.
See you there!
With best wishes
