It is our pleasure to welcome you to Citywire DACH 2020, our new virtual forum for investors from Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.
The depth and duration of the global COVID-19 pandemic remains unknown. As the accompanying global recession, low yields, and geopolitical uncertainty. In this context, Citywire DACH 2020 will bring leading fund selectors and wealth managers together for two intensive mornings of meetings with portfolio managers covering a range of asset classes.
This virtual forum has been designed to bring you just the kind of first-hand information you need, when you need it most, enabling the community of fund selectors and wealth managers from the DACH region to hear from leading fund managers, for fresh insights, reassurance and support.
On Thursday morning the live fund manager sessions will drill down into a range of key asset classes and strategies, shining a light on opportunities and solutions to be tapped for your portfolios. On Friday, we will reconvene for a busy morning, filled with meetings with fund managers dedicated to sustainable strategies.
In addition to the live fund manager sessions, we have carefully crafted two main conference sessions to leave you with plenty of precious ‘food for thought’ to implement ‘on the job’. We´re very pleased to have the groundbreaking Bibiana Steinhaus join us as a keynote speaker. Bibiana was the first female referee in German professional football and was one of the 16 referees at the 2011 FIFA Women´s World Cup where she officiated two group stage matches before she was selected to officiate the final between Japan and the United States. Bibiana will take us on a journey through the professional sports world and will show us the difficulties that this year has brought for the sport.
These are uncertain times and many of us are having to adapt to new ways of working. With face-to-face meetings off limits, first-hand and instant information is vital and so we are delighted to be able to bring you this new event, Citywire DACH Virtual 2020.
Thank you for joining us today and we look forward to welcoming you virtually.

Imagine 2020 is finally over. It was an unusual year and a year of crisis. It started with a pandemic, brought us new stock market records and ended with a tense US-Election. What will 2021 hold in store? A vaccine? A wave of bankruptcies? Escalated tensions between the USA and China? While America has gone to the polls already, Germany is still looking for a new leader. Who will be Chancellor from next October? In this panel discussion, we will aim to take a glimpse into the near future and ask the question: How should investors be positioned in the new year?

As human beings we are all wired to be fearful, and to look out for danger. Yet it is being optimistic that is far more intelligent and logical Scott will show why (and why almost no one manages it) and try to steer attendees on a mindset to much better returns - one that is simple to describe and understand, but difficult to stick to.
ESG and sustainability aspects have always played a key role in CHOM CAPITAL’s specialist European equities fund solutions.. What is new is that in recent years they have also become critical factors with particular impact on fund performance. How this will be implemented is shown in Christoph Benner’s presentation.
Fund Manager
Mark Nash
To generate positive fixed income returns in today’s markets you need to do things differently given the low levels of interest rates. Fund manager Mark Nash will discuss the Merian Strategic Absolute Return Bond fund’s dynamic and flexible approach to building a portfolio that fits the macro environment. Mark also will share his views on the outlook for risk markets including a potential rotation out of US assets as part of an early cycle reflation portfolio.
