We’re welcoming the arrival of spring – and with it the reminder that fresh beginnings are
always within reach. The start of the year has brought its share of challenges, but just as nature
continues to evolve and flourish, so too can we embrace new possibilities.
Spring is a time of renewal. Not just in the world around us, but within ourselves and, of course,
that extends to what we wear. “Surrealism dominates the Spring/Summer 2025 collections, empowering women to be whoever they want to be,” says Fashion Director Lily Russo-Bah of the season ahead. “Designers played
with gravity-defying garments, ethereal fabrics and sculpted silhouettes, blending strength with dreamlike aesthetics. From warrior-inspired looks at Dior to Prada’s answer to algorithmic style, the
season celebrates unpredictability and empowerment.”
This issue is a tribute to female individuality and artistic expression. The team at Marie Claire UK has been working hard to bring you everything you need to know for the season ahead, including the essential guide to the Spring/Summer 2025 trends we saw stomping down the runways in New York, Milan, Paris and London – our favourite city, full of young, exciting talent bursting with creativity. Plus, the names to watch this season and a closer look at some of our favourite creative voices, including Pieter Mulier’s vision at Alaïa and Completedworks founder Anna Jewsbury – whose sculptural designs have captivated style icons from Tracee Ellis Ross to Selma Blair.
We hope you enjoy this issue as much as we loved creating it. Stay tuned across the month for exclusive updates across the site, social channels and newsletters – as always, we’d love to hear your thoughts.

I’ve always loved that ‘fresh start’ feeling that comes with September. For me, it’s reminiscent of the nervous excitement I felt when putting on a fresh uniform for the new school year and unpacking pristine stationary. I’m naturally optimistic in outlook, so I always see this time of year as an opportunity for re-invention or rebirth after the summer break and updating my wardrobe is a huge part of that. Having spent
months in summer dresses, I’m ready to be inspired by something new and make those key
investments buys, from a statement coat to new boots and work bag.
Lucky for me then, that the fashion team over here at Marie Claire UK have been busy working away these past two months to bring you the most comprehensive fashion special we’ve done for five years. It covers everything from on point trend and accessories reports to exclusive interviews and shoots with our favourite designers and creatives, from Tolu Coker to Arianna Casadei. “Autumn/Winter 2024 is a tale of opposites,” says fashion director Lily Russo Bah of the season ahead. “It mixes everyday wardrobe staples with maximalist design details that will make even the most cold-weather averse fall in love with their winter wardrobe.
From statement shaggy coats to boardroom-inspired tailoring and boho blouses, we decode the must-have trends for the season ahead – that we can’t wait to wear.”
We’ve also rounded up all that’s noteworthy from the world’s fashion capitals, and asked our
favourite content creators for their best-kept secrets on where to eat, drink and shop. While back at
home, to celebrate the 40th anniversary of London Fashion Week we look at its inimitable
impact and evolution and round up its most iconic moments.
As you will have gathered, this issue is the culmination of a lot of passion and hard work – we hope you enjoy reading it as much as we enjoyed creating it for you. Stay tuned all month for updates on site,
social and newsletter, and be sure to tell us what you think!
