Praytell is a modern creative communications agency, powered by best in class culture and a drive to reshape the industry. With nearly 200 staffers, Praytell drives leading brands like Under Armour, Destination Canada, Shopify and Anheuser-Busch forward with a fresh, modern, integrated approach essential in today’s landscape. We’re not afraid to take chances, make mistakes and forge new paths with things like our 4-day work week. And we do it with the same no ego, no B.S. mandate we bring to our work with clients. In short(ish), we’re an agency for the ambitious - ambitious people, ambitious ideas, ambitious change. We’re inspired to empower purposeful opportunities for our people and bring new voices into the industry. We’re motivated to create impactful, inspiring ideas for our clients. And we’re determined to champion lasting, meaningful change for our industry. We believe there is a better, more creative, more ambitious way, and we’re just getting started.
Chapter 2
Diversity, equity and inclusion
Praytell advocated for and showed major progress for DEI commitments and debuted a long-term agenda for enhancement to our employees, clients and partners including:
Urgent Transparency by publishing our demographic data on our website alongside updates to trade and industry advocacy groups. In one year, we increased our BIPOC employees from 38% to 42%, successfully increasing representation of our most underrepresented communities to reflect the U.S. population. The agency also increased representation at senior levels bringing BIPOC representation from 28% to 31%.
Cultivating BIPOC Talent through an investment in our highly engaged ERG communities that includes year round tailored education programs and partnerships to further our agency awareness and support.
Advancing Equity through anti-racism education and a thorough review and revamp of our recruiting, staffing, performance and compensation practices.
Deepening Community Ties through employee engagement and pro-bono services for organizations committed to racial justice and solving systemic issues. We’ve partnered with the Diversity Marketing Consortium and Harlem Capital, Stop AAPI Hate, Civic Nation and USOW: Every Issue is a Gender Issue and more.
Chapter 3
Inspiring case studies
Destination Canada’s Northern Lights: Praytell was tasked with inspiring New Yorkers to book a vacation to the home of winter, Canada, by demonstrating the warmth and magic of Canada’s coldest season. In just 77 days from idea to execution, we brought one of the Great White North’s most iconic cold-weather experiences—the northern lights—to New York City’s Grand Central Terminal. The fully-immersive and interactive experience was first previewed to media and then experienced by 10,000+ New Yorkers (who lined up around the block). The exhibit reminded people just how close one of the world’s seven natural wonders really is. The activation received over 180 media placements and over 2B impressions. But what really gave us goosebumps was seeing a young woman bring her 90-year-old grandmother to the exhibit, where she surprised her with a Canadian northern lights trip of her own–a longtime dream, finally realized.
Chapter 4
More campaigns we are proud of
"As a 10 year PR professional, I know all too well what its like to be the only person of color or queer person in the room. When I began I felt obliged to keep those identities silent, secondary to not celebrate them. From the beginning, the foundation of Praytell has been our people. Differences, cultural perspectives and new ideas are celebrated. In recent years I’ve been incredibly proud of how our agency has moved that ethos from spirit to systemic practice. Our head of DEI, Naria Frazer has brought rigor and accountability to what was once just a passion point. It’s made us the most intentionally diverse agency I’ve ever been a part of."
Stefan Embry, Chief of Staff, Head of Impact Strategy
"As a new mom reentering the workplace, the 4DWW felt like a liferaft amid a sea of work/life balance struggles. Having an extra-ish day to catch up on errands and other to-dos allows me to be fully present with my family over the weekend. The ripple effects of that have been immense. I've felt more focused at work Mon-Thurs and relieved from the dreaded working-mom guilt."
Sarah Zunt, Vice President, Account Strategy
"Entering into my first senior role in my career, Praytell is a company that has impressed me with its relentless focus on growing and empowering female leadership. As a creative, it's uplifting to know that my voice is not only heard, but incredibly valued, as I truly feel any idea I bring to the table will be met with encouragement and even better - a team of talented individuals who will help make it a reality. Knowing I'm working for a company that thrives on innovation and positive change across all departments brings an excitement and eagerness to my job that is rare to find."
Sadie Birchfield, Senior Designer
SailGP: Global racing league, SailGP, soared into San Francisco as the Formula 1 of high-speed sailing, attracting thousands of fans - and securing 2000+ placements and 12 billion earned impressions - for the winner-take-all season finale.
Breckenridge: We delivered a heavy dose of holiday cheer with Breckenridge Brewery’s Saint BEERnard Christmas Ale Deliveries campaign.
Fender: Praytell creatively tapped into influencers to launch and grow Fender’s TikTok from 0 to 1 million followers in under 6 months!
