Now more than ever, family matters the most. The current situation has made us all renew our focus on the people we love—the homes we’ve made, the time we spend together, and the meals we share. It has also made us more aware of and thankful for the men and women who keep our kitchens and dinner tables supplied with food.
Every step of the way, the employees of Sigma, formally known as Bar-S, have worked to bring America some of its favorite foods. In fact, Sigma has been instrumental in donating food supplies to struggling communities during the pandemic. The men and women of Sigma have given families a reason to connect over the comfort of a home-cooked meal. And now Sigma is excited to welcome qualified workers to their extended work family in Oklahoma.
Sigma is currently looking to hire about 30 people at each of four Oklahoma locations: Altus, Lawton, Clinton, and Seminole.
These production line workers will not only be on the front line of Sigma's mission to keep America fed, but they will also be part of something much larger than themselves.
For more than 35 years, Bar-S has maintained a reputation for providing customers with great-tasting products. A decade after centralizing operations in Oklahoma in 1996, Bar-S became the best-selling hot dog brand in the United States. In 2010, the company was acquired by Sigma, a global leader in the food industry. But while Bar-S is now a key brand of an international operation, the company’s heart is still local, dedicated to its communities and its people here in Oklahoma.
To Sigma, their employees are more like family than co-workers. Aside from their careers, they are award-winning grill masters and chess champions, musicians and hobbyist painters. They come together not just for their shifts, but for pop-a-shot competitions and holiday parties, including the legendary Christmas steak dinner, prepared by company superintendent and award-winning steak cooker, Anthony Hernández.
In addition to those perks, Sigma is also dedicated to offering competitive wages, outstanding benefits, steady hours, and opportunities for a long career path, progressing through the company.
Production line jobs are fast-paced and best for people who like to work in open spaces, not stuck behind a desk day in and day out. There are great positions for men and women who have a high school education and have been working in fast food or housekeeping, but are looking for more reliable hours and a stable career path. With current demand, Sigma plants are running at full capacity with plenty of work hours available.
