Through tremendous hard work, unwavering dedication, meticulous attention to detail, and humble client service, Austin Storck has risen to stardom in his profession. The desire to help people is a significant driver for the young advisor.
Before his career in finance, Storck embarked on a remarkable journey by enlisting in the US Navy serving as an Assault troop Radio Operator at the Tier 1 Naval Special Warfare Development Group. After his second combat deployment, the Kansas native made the decision to transition from the service.
Recognizing the importance of continuous learning and professional growth, Storck began his academic journey at Liberty University while in the Navy. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration: Financial Planning. Upon transitioning from the service, he earned a Master of Business Administration from Raymond A. Mason School of Business at William and Mary.
After completing his education, Storck joined Borza Wealth Management Group of Raymond James as a financial advisor. Working with Mike Borza, SVP of Wealth Management, has laid the foundations for Storck to get his career off to a successful start. He also believes networking with fellow advisors has added to his repertoire.
“I knew that to be competitive and have the best opportunities, I would need to gain as much knowledge as possible,” says Storck. “I dedicated time to engage with successful advisors both within and outside our firm. The willingness of these individuals to share their knowledge and experiences was incredibly meaningful, and I owe a great deal to their selfless actions. By observing their conduct and learning from their strategies, I was able to integrate the best practices into my own approach. This amalgamation of insights has enabled me to assist others more effectively.”
He adds, “I found many advisors offload the work to others. We pride ourselves on keeping everything internal to the team and knowing what goes on with each portfolio, plan, and other aspects of one’s financial life every day.”
Storck’s technological skills set him apart within Raymond James.
“Being able to navigate and use firm technology and becoming a subject matter expert on the tools and resources available to us to help clients set me up within our branch to earn respect,” he says. “My pursuit of excellence will never burn out and that’s what I love about this career – it’s a never-ending journey to acquire more knowledge.”
Storck’s goal is to help all clients achieve their financial goals through humility, excellence, and respect.
“No matter if you have a dollar or $10 million, my servant heart and faith drive me to sit down and try to see how I can help anyone. This has opened many doors for me to build relationships, where others may turn them away,” he reveals. “It’s about being able to observe the spoken and the unspoken to help people meet their aspirations.”
Storck continues to pay it forward by helping veterans down the same path. As vice chair for military recruiting and retention for Raymond James’s Valor Inclusion Network, he plays a crucial role in attracting and retaining military talent, liaises with military hiring partners, and conducts promotional and outreach activities.
The Valor Inclusion Network is a notable initiative along with other DE&I inclusion programs at the firm. Additionally, as an alumnus of The Honor Foundation’s Cohort 46, Storck offers pro bono financial planning and mentorship to fellow transitioning military members. His efforts in this area not only support individual veterans but also enhance the veteran community’s overall financial literacy and stability.
Through these initiatives, Storck demonstrates a strong commitment to the professional community and has significantly contributed to promoting financial literacy and supporting veterans beyond his day-to-day job requirements.
