Do you love engineering, art, working with your hands, or problem-solving? The McCarthy Partnership for Women is organizing a virtual event to promote and educate young women about the multi-faceted industry that construction is! The event is open to all grades of high school girls and you will be able to learn about trades like concrete, electrical, plumbing, framing and others. Additionally, there will be special breakout sessions where you’ll hear about software, leadership, unions, engineers, and architects. Parents are welcomed to join as well!
Diverse perspectives drive better outcomes
Following an initial presentation, student groups of 15-20 will be separated into breakout groups. Industry speakers will then rotate into these groups every 15 minutes to share their experiences and insight into scopes they perform.

Andrea Ramos
Andrea has been with McCarthy for over 22 years and has served as a leader of the Education Building Group for 13 years. The main focus of this group is to be a community builder by working on renovations, remodels, and new construction builds to schools from pre-k to universities, across the state of Arizona. As Director, Andrea supports her project teams by ensuring they have the right resources.

Amanda Nichols
Amanda has worked for McCarthy for almost ten years. She was born and raised in Arizona and graduated from Arizona State University with a degree in Construction Management. Amanda originally wanted to be a mechanical engineer but found Del E. Webb School of Construction and loved the idea of benig part of Education Building Group at McCarthy. Jamie Clapp
Jamie's entire career has been focused on developing others, starting with a college internship for Ferguson Enterprises where she worked for 13 years taking on national roles. Being raised a contractor and carpenters daughter, Jamie found her love for the construction industry at a young age, even starting a small business in concrete floor coverings. Jamie has always known she wanted to help people and work for a really cool company like McCarthy.

Janelle, an Arizona native, brings over a decade of graphic design and marketing expertise to the AEC industry. Rachael started with McCarthy right after graduating from Georgia Tech with a Civil Engineering degree. Farah graduated from ASU in 2019 and immediately began her career as a Project Engineer with McCarthy. Her experience includes MEP startups, commissioning, and closeout at the Mirabella at ASU project. Now, she works in Tucson as a part of the structure team for the Applied Research Building project at the University of Arizona. She has a passion for teaching and mentoring with experience at Phoenix Community College and Arizona State University.

Abby graduated from Arizona State University with a degree in Marketing. She began her career at McCarthy in 2019 and now serves as a Marketing Coordinator for the Southwest region. She has worked in the industry for almost eight years on a variety of projects, including TopGolf Las Vegas, and has started to specialize in concrete structures. She is currently working on a concrete bridge in the heart of Tempe at ASU’s main campus.

Danielle is a graduate from Montana State University with a six-year career with McCarthy. She began as a Project Engineer and worked her way to Superintendent by learning the trades throughout mulitple projects in Nevada. She is currently on a solar project in Reno, NV. Bailey earned a Construction Engineering degree from Arizona State University. After graduating in 2014, she became a partner at McCarthy in Las Vegas. Bailey has enjoyed the diverse opportunities presented while working on the renovations at Red Rock Hotel & Casino, and UNLV’s Hospitality Hall Academic Building, and the Raiders Stadium. She’s now working on UNLV’s newest parking garage addition.

Robin started with McCarthy as a Project Administrator in 2006. With the help of McCarthy’s tuition reimbursement program, she was able to earn her Bachelor’s Degree from ASU in 2014 while working full-time. Robin has worked in Education Services, Renewable Energy, and Healthcare. She has been a member of McCarthy's Partnership for Women Committee for several years and enjoys mentoring and advocating for women leaders in the industry.

Amber's love of construction started in high school during a construction class. She studied Construction Management at Colorado State University and joined McCarthy after college. Amber's portoflio of projects includes renewable energy, water, and work within McCarthy's scheduling department. McCarthy has allowed Amber to try different roles - from office to field - that offer new challenges. She recommends construction as an industry young women should consider because everyday is different and fun.

Lis'sy passion for construction began by telling her teacher she wanted to be a backhoe driver when she grew up. Throughout high school and college she worked in the trades as a residential roofer, finish carpenter, and a drywaller. After graduating with a degree in Construction Management from BYU she now serves as a Project Engineer in the healthcare division for McCarthy.

With twenty years experience, Principal Stephanie has made it a mission to “Design a Better Future”. She is the youngest Studio Leader across 14 offices and a Certified Interior Designer and a Registered Architect. She also serves as a Board Member on the Women in Design + Construction Conference Committee. A proud Sun Devil, Stephanie serves as a Council Member for the Arizona State University Alumni Foundation.

Dan founded DP Electric in 1990 with the vision of creating a company that values employees, is service-oriented, and delivers quality work. Today, Dan’s focus is giving back to the industry by leading workforce development efforts. Dan is on the advisor board for Build Your Future Arizona and the current Chair for the ACE Mentors Program. DP Electric’s NCCER accredited apprenticeship program offers skilled training to those new to the trade and aligns with Dan’s mission to bring more craft professionals into the industry.

Hannah graduated from the University of Colorado, Boulder in 2020, studying Architectural Engineering with an Energy Engineering minor. At Henderson Engineers, she designs HVAC systems for commercial buildings. Her role requires her to analyze site, environmental, and internal factors that heat or cool buildings, and design HVAC systems that improve occupant health, productivity, and comfort, while optimizing cost and energy savings.

Christine serves as an Assist. Safety Manager for McCarthy. This October, she celebrates six years at McCarthy, although she's been a part of the construction industry for nearly 14 years. Christine's career all began as a carpenters apprentice with an emphasis on safety. A fun fact about her is that her favorite number is seven.

Danielle oversees Human Resources, IT, Marketing, and Accounting and works closely with Operations and Preconstruction to maximize value and reduce risk. Kim joined McCarthy in 2012 after graduating from ASU’s Construction Management program. She has worked in McCarthy’s Water Group in three different states and in the Commercial Preconstruction. Kim gravitates toward new challenges and enjoys working with different types of people on a dynamic team to solve problems and accomplish goals. Jennifer graduated from Kansas State University with a degree in Construction Science and Management. She interned with McCarthy is 2007 and started full time in 2019 working on Circa Resort and Casino and the Garage Mahal projects. Her background in healthcare, bio engineering buildings and data centers. Her passion is MEP trades because she believes these systems bring life to the buildings we create. She is currently an electrical superintendent on a solar plant outside of Las Vegas.
