Navigant takes great pride in its commitment to diversity and inclusion. Our ability to champion an open exchange of ideas and to celebrate each other’s differences not only provides a comfortable and safe space to gather, grow, and network, but also enables us to create state of the art solutions for our clients.
Navigant Chairman and CEO
Julie Howard
I don’t celebrate Pride for my present-day self. I celebrate it to show my fearful, closeted high school self that I am just as worthy and capable of living a fulfilled life as anyone else is. I celebrate it to join with millions of others and demonstrate to the youth out there currently in a shell what it really means to embrace individuality, and I am beyond fortunate to be part of a company that so actively has supported the LGBTQ community - both in and out of the office.

I’m happy to work at a firm that truly values diversity, and I have never felt more accepted than I do at Navigant. As a leader of NAVPride, I truly hope that the visibility that I show helps make other people throughout the firm feel more open and included.
NAVPride Co-Chair | Director | Healthcare
Casey Horton
In a time of increased polarization, division, and leadership that prioritizes personal and special interests over equality and inclusivity, I am grateful to be a part of a team at Navigant that challenges itself to celebrate our differences, to acknowledge – during pride month – that our greatest strength is our diversity, and to include its diverse workforce in the common goal of achieving solutions for our clients and the world we share.

Jimmy Burnett
At Navigant, I don’t have to spend energy worrying about what people are going to think about me personally. I can focus on getting results for clients, not on politics. And, as a member of the Human Rights Campaign for many years, what a joy and honor it is to be with a company who has achieved 10 consecutive years on the HRC Corporate Equality Index.

Senior consultants are responsible for the day-to-day management of consulting assignments and have regular interactions with clients. Specific responsibilities include: analyzing scientific, clinical, financial and strategic information to discern the business implications of new technologies and emerging trends; conducting primary research interviews with clinicians, thought leaders, and executives in the healthcare industry and related fields; managing and mentoring junior staff; and preparing and presenting written reports to Navigant senior management and clients. Travel is project-dependent but averages 20 to 25 percent.
Working in the Navigant life sciences regulatory & compliance team has provided me with a uniquely stimulating and rewarding opportunity to gain deeper expertise into the pivotal, functional areas of life science companies. Since joining Navigant, I’ve been able to develop my skills across a diverse range of pharmaceutical, medical device, nutraceutical, and digital health projects, including regulatory strategy, market access and reimbursement, and compliance support. What makes Navigant a great place to work is the talented team comprised of senior experts who are always willing to provide support, guidance, and mentorship to junior staff, and the intelligent, ambitious junior colleagues who truly embrace the word ‘collaboration.

Working within the market access team at Navigant has allowed me to blend my passion for healthcare, science, and business daily. Because our team is fairly small, I have the opportunity to work closely with not only Navigant senior leadership, but also the senior leadership of many of our clients. The area we work in is complex and ever-changing, making it a great place for those that are creative and love a challenge. Within market access, no two projects are the same, which continues to keep me excited and engaged in providing successful solutions for our clients.
Consultants work with Navigant life sciences teams providing support through all aspects of project work. Examples of consulting assignments include therapeutic area strategy development, product opportunity assessments, commercial strategy, business development search and evaluations, due diligence, market access strategy, new product launch planning and positioning, and payer landscape assessments. Travel is project-dependent but averages 15 to 20 percent.
- Managing Consultant
During my career at Navigant I have been fortunate enough to be involved in highly-stimulating and often challenging projects. They have allowed me learn continuously, take on increasing responsibility, as well as appreciate the challenges of rapidly-evolving and complex healthcare systems in Europe, the U.S., and Asia. My time at Navigant has also afforded me the opportunity to work with phenomenally smart colleagues on both sides of the Atlantic. Due to the diversity and variety of professional experiences within Navigant, I can bounce ideas off colleagues and can always count on getting a fresh and varied perspective.
Managing consultants (MCs) are responsible for managing projects from cultivation to completion. MCs manage the activities of the designated project team and support the day to day management of the client relationship, including developing and managing work plans, staffing, deadlines and budgets across multiple projects simultaneously. Work products are expected to be high-quality and client-ready. MCs lead team meetings and guide, manage, and coach Consultants and Senior Consultants. MCs take part in sales initiatives and practice development. Travel is project-dependent but averages 20 to 25 percent.
- Associate Director
I’ve really enjoyed the breadth of experience I’ve gained in the medical device industry. From start-ups just developing their go-to-market strategy, to multi-nationals considering their technology portfolio, I’ve had the opportunity to work with diverse teams across numerous therapeutic areas.
Associate director (AD) is a highly challenging position that draws heavily upon all of the analytical, creative, and interpersonal skills essential to effective general strategy consulting. The ability to assume complete ownership of significant projects, while at the same time being a part of and leading a close knit team, is essential. ADs must demonstrate considerable poise and business maturity to perform effectively and add value in the client environment. ADs provide unique subject matter expertise and may develop business with new clients or contribute to add-on revenue generation with existing clients.
- Director
Navigant has provided me the opportunity to gain a wholistic view of the life sciences industry and lead projects from discovery of new molecule entities, through management of product loss of exclusivity. What is especially rewarding is working with consultants new to some of these areas and helping them think through our clients’ business challenges and develop solutions to meet their needs.
The director role is a dynamic and critical role, requiring industry expertise and a outstanding customer service. Directors help to build business, lead client relationships, and oversee project deliverables to achieve the highest quality for our clients. Directors also assume a significant role in practice leadership and development.
- Managing Director
I began my career at Navigant as a consultant and have moved through the ranks to managing director. Navigant has given me tremendous opportunities to develop my consulting skills from active and engaged team member to client and team leader. Throughout my years at Navigant, I have honed my consulting skills, my leadership capabilities, and my expertise in the life sciences industry. Navigant’s focus on supporting the greater community keeps me committed, engaged and inspired. “Inspire” is certainly an apt name for Navigant’s employee giving platform. Through this avenue, I have been able to set up donation and volunteer campaigns that have helped me make an impact in my community.
The managing director role requires a strong presence and in-depth knowledge of Llfe sciences' industry trends and drivers, a keen ability to identify business opportunities for clients, and an exceptional ability to coach and develop teams. The ability to assume complete ownership of significant projects, while at the same time being a part of and leading a close-knit team, is critical.
