The Scotiabank Women Initiative launched in December 2018.
There are many challenges women face on their path to success when starting, sustaining and growing a business. The Scotiabank Women Initiative is acomprehensive program that supports women-owned, women-led businesses through 3 pillars: Access to Capital, Mentorship and Education. The program has committed to allocate $3 billion in funding over the first 3 years.
We are committed to equal access to our full suite of financing solutions and to ensuring that our lending practices are free of bias. Our experts can propose tailored financing solutions, including working capital and inventory financing, funding for capital projects, expansions, mergers and acquisitions and much more.
The Advisory Board is composed of Scotiabank executives, who provide expertise to help women grow their businesses through facilitated small group mentorship sessions.
While discussing complex business problems, participants will benefit from strengthened relationships and on going communications with other women in business and Scotiabank executives.
The program provides access to a series of half-day Un-Mentorship Boot Camps and regional mini-boot camps that “un-teach” traditionally-held ideas about how to succeed. These sessions allow women to explore challenges and share insights from our research.
Our online Knowledge Centre hosts a series of learning aids that women can complete and share. The site also includes research from industry experts, podcasts and inspiring commentary to help business leaders move their business in the right direction.
