When open enrollment ends
For coverage that starts Jan. 1, you need to apply by Dec. 15. But there is still time to get coverage for 2025 if you apply between Dec. 16 and Jan. 15. It just means your coverage won’t start until Feb. 1.

How some pay $0 for health coverage
If you meet specific eligibility requirements you could pay just $0 for their health insurance coverage thanks to the new Covered Connecticut Program created by the State of Connecticut. This program is for residents between the ages of 19–64.

All health plans offered through Access Health CT provide coverage for 10 Essential Health Benefits from maternity and newborn care to mental health, prescriptions and so much more. Pediatric services include vision and oral care for household members under 26. Preventive wellness services can be used without a copay and without paying towards your deductible.

Qualifying life events make a difference
If you experience a qualifying life event (like marriage, birth of a child or loss of other coverage), you may be eligible for a Special Enrollment Period outside the open enrollment window.

If you're a non-citizen or DACA recipients
Non-citizens and DACA recipients in Connecticut have specific options for health coverage that require a paper or in-person application. How to get financial help
Nearly 90% of Access Health CT customers currently get financial help to lower their costs. Qualifying for financial help is based on your household income, where you live and how many people are in your household. Fill out the enrollment application to see if you qualify for financial help.

Deferred Action for Childhood Arrival (DACA) recipients are now eligible to purchase health coverage through the federal or state-based marketplaces. That means Connecticut residents who are DACA recipients can now enroll in coverage through Access Health CT. Help is available in more than 100 languages through our call center.
