How to Travel Safely
Club Members can finally say aloha to HGV properties located on The Big Island and Oahu
Booking Tip: Hilton Grand Vacations has re-opened most of its properties across Hawaii and many will be opening soon. Book now and you could be spending a tropical, winter wonderland on one of Hawaii’s beautiful beaches.
Airports and airlines are following CDC guidelines and sanitizing frequently touched spaces, such as ticket counters, kiosks and seats, but plan on bringing your own hand sanitizer as a precaution. Face coverings are required for both passengers and workers on airplanes, trains, ships, ferries, subways, taxis and ride shares, and at transportation hubs, such as airports and stations. For more information on domestic travel see the Frequently Asked Questions page on the CDC website.
Most HGV properties around the world are open and accepting Club Members. In Hawaii, for example, Team Members started welcoming Owners and guests at select HGV resorts in July 2020. And by December 15, 2020, our resorts in Oahu were re-opened. Please continue to visit our Travel Updates page for up-to-date information about staying with us, safely, in your desired destination.
Destination Highlight: Hawaii
Hilton Grand Vacations’ Aloha, Againefforts are designed to encourage our Club Members to feel confident about traveling to Hawaii and visiting our resorts. U.S. residents, and Canadian and Japanese nationals visiting the Hawaiian islands no longer need to quarantine for 10 days upon arrival as long as they provide proof of a valid, negative COVID-19 test that is taken within three days of departure for Hawaii from a trusted travel partner. (Travelers from CDC-prohibited countries are currently unable to enter the islands of Hawaii.)
Prior to arrival, travelers must create an account on the Safe Travels website and follow the instructions, which include:
Aloha, Again!
Travel Updates in the United States
Official guidance from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) warns that travelers should remain vigilant about wearing a face covering, maintaining social distance and washing hands often to lower the chances of getting COVID-19. Always check the CDC website for the latest health updates before you travel.
A number of retailers, including Costco, are offering easy access to pre-travel testing. Costco is selling COVID-19 test kits you can complete at home and then mail to a testing center and receive results within 48 hours. Tests cost approximately $140 and are available for most U.S. states. In addition, pharmacies such as CVS Health and Walgreens have on-site testing availability.
Please remember that if you are traveling to Hawaii, you must complete a pre-travel COVID-19 test from a trusted travel and testing partner before your last leg of departure to the state, and your test results must be uploaded to the Safe Travels website before arrival. For the most up-to-date list of trusted travel partners, visit the State of Hawaii COVID-19 Portal.

Can I Combine My Flight With a COVID-19 Test?
Certain airlines will coordinate your COVID-19 testing, helping to ensure you start your Hawaii vacation the right way. These airlines include:
Receiving proof of a valid, negative COVID-19 test from a trusted travel partner. Tests must be taken no more than 72 hours before arrival in Hawaii.
Entering your trip details to receive a QR code for each leg of travel to Hawaii.
Uploading your documents, including valid COVID-19 test results and a recent photo.
Completing a Travel Health Questionnaire 24 hours before departure.
Presenting your Safe Travels QR code to local officials upon arrival at the airport and at your HGV resort.
If traveling to Hawaii County, taking a second test upon arrival to avoid the county’s mandatory 10-day quarantine.

The Bay Club at Waikoloa Resort is open and implementing enhanced cleaning protocols so you can enjoy a worry-free vacation
To give you an idea of what to expect when you travel to Hawaii, Bob I., a Hilton Grand Vacations Owner at The Bay Club at
Waikoloa Resort, shared his recent experience.
To prepare for the trip and all arrival protocols, Bob found the best resource is the State of Hawaii’s COVID-19 Portal. “The website gave explanations of all the steps you need to take. It even provided names of testing companies, and it was absolutely accurate.
“I would tell everybody to get your test done as close as you can to the 72-hour departure window to allow for the maximum amount of time for your results to be returned,” Bob recommends.
Once he and his family arrived at The Bay Club, they were pleased with the elevated cleaning protocols that are in place as part of HGV’s Enhanced Care Guidelines.
“When you first arrive, there is plexiglass at the check-in counters. You find that everywhere nowadays. So that was expected, and it was there,” he says. Additional protocols around the property included the requirement of wearing face coverings in all indoor public spaces.
The enhanced cleaning protocols were evident throughout the property. “When we arrived at the room, it had the same seal on it as we’ve seen at Hilton hotels worldwide, indicating the room had been cleaned. Inside the room, there were reminders about the additional cleaning steps that had been taken. The paper materials were all removed. And the TV remote controls were wrapped and covered, letting us know they had been cleaned.”
The attention to detail carried over throughout the resort. “I was particularly aware of the personnel who were constantly coming by and cleaning things,” Bob adds. “Basically, I felt perfectly comfortable that the protocols were being taken care of.”
“If you’re minding all the proper protocols, the travel experience will be different, but safe. And once you’re there, you’re home again in paradise. It’s wonderful,” he concludes.

Aloha, Again
Hawaiian Airlines: In partnership with Vault, Hawaiian Airlines is offering an at-home test that is approved by the State of Hawaii. The saliva collection test is FDA EUA-authorized and costs $119 per test kit. (Bonus: Hawaiian Airlines is now offering direct flights to Hawaii from Orlando!)
United Airlines: If flying to Hawaii via United Airlines, order your test up to 10 days before flying to ensure you have your negative test result recorded three days before your departure. This will allow you to avoid the 10-day quarantine after landing. The fee is $80 for a mail-in test.
Alaska Airlines: Travelers flying to Hawaii with Alaska Airlines are now able to pre-clear at the departure gate and bypass airport screening upon arrival in Hawaii. To participate, your Safe Travels profile must be updated with your negative COVID-19 test results and completed travel health questionnaire before you arrive at the departure gate. The gate agent will verify that your profile is updated and give you a pre-clear wristband. Your pre-clear wristband will allow you to skip airport arrival screening in Hawaii.
