Founded in 1864, Wrexham AFC is the oldest soccer club in Wales and the third oldest professional soccer club in the world. Notably, Hollywood actors Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds are co-owners of Wrexham and the club is featured on the FX docuseries Welcome to Wrexham, which chronicles the purchase and stewardship of Wrexham AFC by McElhenney and Reynolds. Wrexham clinched promotion to League Two and won the National League title after defeating Boreham Wood 3-1 on April 22. The promotion to EFL League Two marks the first time Wrexham have reached the fourth-tier of the EFL since the 2007-08 campaign.
