Michele Jawando
Serving as managing director with Asia Capital, Catherine Shiang guides a single family office that has locations in
Hong Kong, Singapore, Miami, and London. Emphasizing portfolio interests employing the firm’s own capital,
Catherine Shiang also guides the formation of investment partnerships and groups. A unique aspect of her approach is deal flow that largely comes through referrals from other families, with projects undertaken that are "off market” and proprietary in nature.
Corporate social responsibility is an important aspect of all transactions undertaken, with all deals vetted for community impact. With investment horizons dependent upon a variety of factors, the family office maintains a significant risk tolerance and has taken positions in early stage companies and emerging markets.
Catherine is well respected in her field. She sat on a pair of panels at the Family Business Summit in Dubai on technology deals and co-investments. A founding member of the Asia Alumni Advisory Board at the Georgetown University Law Center, Catherine also serves on the board of her alma mater’s Corporate Counsel Institute.
As the Chief Executive Officer of Four Stones Real Estate (FSRE), Blake Goodman oversees overall vision, strategy,
and partnerships. Prior to establishing FSRE, he served as the Executive Director of Real Estate Investments for
Chick-fil-A and the Cathy Family. His strength was utilizing customer information to create an objective data-driven platform which supported dealmakers as Chick-fil-A rolled out across the U.S. and internationally. Blake achieved his B.B.A. and J.D. at the University of Georgia and successfully completed the Executive Program for Growing Companies at Stanford University. He and his wife, Kim, have five children between the ages of 7-17 years old.
Michele L. Jawando, an accomplished leader and visionary, serves as the Senior Vice President and Head of Global Programs at Omidyar Network, spearheading the organization’s efforts to address critical societal issues such as the economy, technology, and belonging. Her impactful journey includes pivotal roles at Google, where she directed global programs on issues such as elections, cybersecurity, and gender equity,
and at the Center for American Progress, where she tackled contemporary challenges ranging from national security,
civil and human rights, and economic growth.
Additionally, she worked as General Counsel and
Senior Advisor to United States Senator Kirsten Gillibrand and then House Foreign Relations Chair, Congressman Gregory Meeks, spearheading bipartisan legislative achievements.
With a J.D. from the University of North Carolina School of Law and a B.A. from Hampton University, Michele is a trailblazing author, entrepreneur, and afro-tech futurist, who believes across our differences we can create and build the future we desire. She is married to Council member Will Jawando and mother of four dynamic children.
