Use this toolkit to help your employees care for their eyes

About 13 million people suffer from eye health conditions because of their jobs.* Putting the focus on eye health can help prevent serious eye conditions before they start. Talk to your employees on how their eyes can tell a lot about their overall health. Let them know that regular eye tests can help protect their eyes, treat or control long-term issues, and keep their eyes healthy.

This toolkit was created to help you communicate with your employees about the details of their vision plan, the importance of preventive eye care, and how the eyes connect to their whole health. We have provided digital and printable assets for each of the topics, or units, below to help you encourage your employees to make the most of their vision benefits and focus on preventive eye health, including regular checkups. These units can be used in any order but allowing 1 to 2 weeks between promoting each one will give employees time to put the information and tips into practice.
Empower your employees to use their vision benefits
Topic 1 — Understanding vision insurance and its value
This unit focuses on helping employees understand their vision benefits, including what services and materials are covered and how. This can help ease employees’ concerns and give them confidence and peace of mind when seeking eye care.
Topic 2 — The importance of preventive eye care
Chronic health conditions can increase people’s risk for certain eye conditions that may affect vision, including glaucoma.* This unit emphasizes the importance of addressing vision conditions early and offers tips on how employees can protect their eyes.
Topic 3 — Eye health and chronic conditions
Prevention is the first step to healthier eyes. This unit covers how routine eye care can spot, track, and manage eye diseases and other health conditions, such as diabetes or heart disease. Regular eye exams are important and can help keep your employees healthy.
