Arkansas Children's Hospital
Sky bridge connecting ACH Main Campus to new Outpatient Building began. The sky bridge will allow for easier access for patients, visitors and team members from the main campus building to the new outpatient building.
Arkansas Children's Hospital
The last steel beam was placed on the outpatient building marking a significant milestone as the expansion progresses. The new outpatient building will have eight surgical suites, 26 exam rooms and eight casting rooms. It is projected to open in 2026.
Arkansas Children's Hospital
Site work began on the new outpatient building and new hospital entrance on Little Rock’s main campus.
Expansion timeline:
Arkansas Children's Northwest
Site work began with an extension at the Springdale hospital’s west side, raising four additional stories. The expansion will increase capacity to approximately 40 beds, two new operating rooms and two procedure rooms, including an endoscopy procedure suite. Outpatient clinic growth will include leasing more space at the adjacent Children’s Center for Health & Wellness.
Arkansas Children's Northwest
Team members were able to make their mark at ACNW by signing the final steel beam and watched it being placed on the new addition to their main hospital.

Expansion at a Glance
2028
Designed for Convenience & Efficiency
A modern space that enhances the family experience while optimizing workflows for surgical teams.
Specialized Pediatric Surgery Close to Home
Children who need ENT, GI, general surgery, orthopedic and other outpatient procedures will receive world-class pediatric care in a dedicated center designed for them.
Expanded Sports Medicine & Orthopedic Spaces
Sports medicine experts will support athletes pre- and post-surgery with state-of-the-art athletic space with turf, track surface, wooden basketball floor and an expanded gym.
Easier Access to the Care Your Child Needs
The expansion makes it simpler for families to get timely care, so children can be seen faster and closer to home.
Arkansas Children’s Hospital in Little Rock is already known for world-class pediatric surgery; with the expansion, patients will now receive that expertise without having to step foot in the hospital.
Opening in summer 2026, the new outpatient surgery facility will focus on a variety of outpatient surgeries and procedures, including ear, nose and throat (ENT), gastroenterology, orthopedics, sports medicine and general surgery. The move will expand access to outpatient surgeries, and free up space for inpatient care in the hospital, creating a more robust experience for families with seriously ill or injured children.

Welcoming Your Family by Improving Patient Access and Experiences
Children are the innocent victims of the opioid abuse crisis, whether they are impacted in the womb, from accidental poisoning or living with the grief of losing a parent or caregiver. The first National Center for Opioid Research & Clinical Effectiveness (NCOR) at Arkansas Children’s Hospital is leading a legacy of understanding the impacts of the opioid crisis on the fetus, newborn and developing children.
