Join us at EAGE Annual 2023!
The timely theme of this year’s EAGE Annual Conference is, ‘Securing a sustainable future together’. The show will focus on energy security and independence, a sustainable energy transition, and how we all need to adapt our traditional ways of working and cooperation to address an uncertain future.
In that light, we look forward to welcoming you to our booth and showing you how AspenTech Subsurface Science & Engineering solutions help you meet today’s demands sustainably for tomorrow. Through presentations and personal meetings, we’ll show you how AspenTech SSE uses digitalization, automation and advanced science to ensure safe and effective subsurface operations, and extend your asset’s life through near-field exploration and production optimization.

Case Study: Aspen Geolog™ Connector to OSDU Helps Total Energies Accelerate Decision-Making and Project Delivery
View Now
One of the key challenges in accelerating decision-making and reducing the development cycle of any operational E&P prospect is to seamlessly share the same updated data with all parties involved in the project. An Aspen Geolog-OSDU Connector was built by the AspenTech SSE team in close collaboration with TotalEnergies. Read more to learn how after end-to-end tests were performed in TotalEnergies’ development and qualification environments, the connector was recognized by the customer as a fit-for-purpose solution that met the expectations of
the end users.

A wave equation is presented which includes the effects of reflectivity caused by velocity and density for wavefield extrapolation in isotropic media. Spatial and temporal sampling criteria are determined to avoid numerical artifacts and instabilities for the FD solutions to the equation. Tests with a SEAM model indicate that the effects of reflectivity can affect seismic data both in amplitude and in phase.
A classification technique using SGNN is presented to refine prospect characterization and reduce the associated risk. This classification technique shows several advantages in the prospect evaluation process. It can leverage prior analysis to constrain the classification and refine the analysis, and it allows the interpreter to integrate different types of input instead of running several analyses independently, saving time and removing the need for manual integration at the end.
This paper shows how computing facies juxtaposition areas on selected faults in the Gullfaks model results in a volumic representation of probability of leakage between fault blocks, accounting for structural uncertainty on both faults and horizons. This can help select the most relevant structural realizations on which to perform geological property modelling and fluid flow simulation.
