Seismic Processing & Imaging
Modern seismic acquisitions can cost tens of millions of dollars; successful “reprocessing” of legacy seismic acquisitions can eliminate the need for new seismic acquisition. For either acquisition type, “seismic wavefield mining” is needed to clarify subsurface images. This presentation presents examples of data mining through wavefield decomposition.

Comparative Analysis of Interpolation or Regularization Data Types for Improved Depth Migration in Geologically Complex Structure Zones
VIEW ABSTRACT
Structural/stratigraphic seismic images, obtained by seismic migrations applied in complex geological areas with restricted acquisition coverage and frequency band, are normally blurred, containing migration artifacts that limit the interpretation of target geological features. Data/image-domain Least-Squares Migrations are routinely applied to overcome these challenges. This work proposes an innovative method based on the local angle domain imaging system. We demonstrate imaging enhancements provided by this approach on real data.
