Nongovernment actors
Stakeholders: Nongovernment stakeholders are an essential part of the summit process. Civil society representatives, the business community, and youth provide contributions to government exchanges and commitments before, during, and after a summit. Some of the spaces where non-government stakeholders can intervene include the following.
Cities Summit
Mayors and local leaders from across the Western Hemisphere gather to promote regional cooperation, build multisectoral partnerships, and propose solutions to shared challenges.
Civil Society Forum
This forum includes various groups representing the interests of the region including gender-based organizations, labor unions, indigenous and Afro-descendant peoples, and LGBTQ+ groups add an on-the-ground perspective to policy priorities and decisions arising from the summit process.
Youth Americas Forum
Organized by the Young Americas Business Trust, young leaders and entrepreneurs from across the Western Hemisphere convene at the summit to contribute to the next generation of ideas.
CEO Summit
At this summit, coordinated by the Inter-American Development Bank, business and government leaders gather to address regional challenges and work toward hemispheric economic prosperity.
