El 6 de marzo de 1902 se fundó el Real Madrid, el club de las 23 Copas de Europa: 13 de fútbol y 10 de baloncesto.
Así ganamos la 12ª Supercopa de España
Real Madrid clinched the title after beating Barça in the final playoff (1-3). The basketball team's 36th League title was made all the more special by unity shown in the face of adversity. On 19 June 2022, Real Madrid got their hands on the trophy when they beat Barça in Game 4 of a final in which they faced home-court advantage against them. With the WiZink Center behind them and a dominant Tavares display, our team won 81-74 to close out a fantastic season that also saw them win the Spanish Super Cup.
The team led by Laso, who would clinch his 22nd title at the Real Madrid helm, enjoyed a spectacular playoff run as they dropped only a single game: 2-0 against Baxi Manresa in the quarters, 3-0 against Bitci Baskonia in the semifinals and 1-3 against Barça in the final. “We fought really hard to achieve this. It's been a really tough year", reflected Tavares, who posted 25 points, 13 rebounds and a PIR of 41 in Game 4 of the final to be named MVP. An image that will live long in the memory, is Lull's gesture with Pablo Laso. The coach was unable to lead the team from the bench in the last few games, having suffered a heart-attack, and the captain handed him the trophy so he could lift it before the fans: "Without him and the coaching team, we wouldn't be celebrating like this", Llull stated.
CHAMPIONS PARADE CLUB'S 36TH LEAGUE CROWN The roster, coaching staff and board of directors visited the Community of Madrid headquarters and the city hall. After having yesterday been crowned league champions at the WiZink Center, Real Madrid paraded the trophy in front of the fans. The roster and coaching staff were joined by Florentino Pérez and the club’s board of directors as they took the trophy to the Community of Madrid headquarters and the city hall. The first stop-off was the Real Casa de Correos, which is home to the Community of Madrid, where they were welcomed by Isabel Díaz Ayuso.
¡Campeones de la 35ª Liga!
The headquarters provided the setting as gifts were exchanged between the two institutions. Florentino Pérez and Sergio Llull presented the president of the community with a model of the league title and a personalised jersey and received a commemorative plaque in return. The team captain was the first to take the floor: “We're really happy and proud to be returning to these Headquarters and to be sharing another trophy with you. I want to thank the president because without his support, none of this would be possible, and thanks also to the coaching staff and the players because it's been a tough year.”
Florentino Pérez: “This title has a special significance”
VISIT TO THE CITY HALL The madridista expedition then travelled on to the city hall, where further gifts were exchanged. Florentino Pérez and Sergio Llull presented the city’s mayor with a model of the trophy and a personalised jersey for José Luis Martínez-Almeida, who presented the duo with a commemorative plaque.
Florentino Pérez: “That's what the spirit of Real Madrid and this team is all about”.

Especial CAMPEONES ¡Están en juego 3 premios!
Farewell,
Real Madrid C. F., its president and Board of Directors are deeply saddened by the passing of Pedro Ferrándiz, honorary member of Real Madrid and one of the biggest legends in the history of our club and international basketball. Real Madrid extends its condolences, warmth and affection to his relatives, team mates and loved ones.
Pedro Ferrándiz is the most decorated coach in Real Madrid history. He led our basketball team for 13 seasons across several spells between 1959 and 1975, during which time he won 4 European Cups, 12 League titles and 11 Copas de España, taking charge of an incredible 490 games. To this day, no coach has won more League or Copa de España titles. Pedro Ferrándiz was also Spanish national team coach from 1964 to 1965. The name Pedro Ferrándiz features in the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, in the FIBA Hall of Fame and in the Spanish basketball equivalent.
He has received a wide range of accolades and recognition at both national and international level, including the Royal Order of Sports Merit (Gran Cruz de la Real Orden del Mérito Deportivo) and an Olympic Order, among others. Pedro Ferrándiz is one of madridismo and international basketball's biggest stars and his legacy will live on forever, not just because of the titles he won, but thanks to his innovative spirit and visionary status within the game, a truly unique figure who revolutionised the sport and changed it forever. Pedro Ferrándiz has passed away at 93 years of age. Real Madrid extends its condolences to all madridismo and fans of basketball around the world. May he rest in peace. PEDRO FERRÁNDIZ, AN INTERNATIONAL BASKETBALL LEGEND Pedro Ferrándiz defined an era in basketball both in Spain and around the globe. The history of the sport in our country simply cannot be told without mention of the remarkable Alicante-born coach who led Real Madrid to an incredible 27 titles. Besides being the basketball team's most decorated coach of all time, with 4 European Cups, 12 League titles and 11 Cups, Ferrándiz was a genius, an innovator with a truly unique personality. In 1959, he took over the first-team reins having been crowned Spanish champion with Real Madrid's kids, youth and junior teams. Between that year and 1975, he switched between head coach and technical director of the basketball section. Over the course of his 13 seasons at the madridista helm, he took charge of 490 games, winning 414. He also set a number of records which will be tough to break - indeed, under his guidance, Real Madrid were unbeaten in the league for over three years, a spectacular run of 88 games without a loss between 1971 and 1975. Pedro Ferrándiz was a pioneer in the way he turned to the United States to sign stars including Hightower and legendary players for our club including Clifford Luyk, Brabender and Walter Szczerbiak. He was also at the forefront of historic basketball moments, like when he ordered the team to score in their own basket in a European Cup game in Varese.
ACCOLADES He also spent a spell in charge of the Spanish national team (1964-65), while he was head of the Real Madrid basketball section for two spells between 1986 and 1997. Pedro Ferrándiz collected a whole host of awards for his contribution to the development of basketball worldwide, including the Royal Order of Sports Merit (Gran Cruz de la Real Orden del Mérito Deportivo) and an Olympic Order, while also being inducted into the Hall of Fame in the USA and the FIBA equivalent. On 27 February 2017, he was granted the title of honorary member of our club: "I never even dreamed I would one day receive the title of honorary member of Real Madrid. I have been awarded numerous highstanding honours throughout my sporting life but the news of this one shook every fibre of my being. It is recognition for 22 years of professional service and 40 years of dear links to the club. My entire life has unfolded in and around Real Madrid".

“We madridistas are indebted to you for dedicating your heart and soul to every game. For that Brazilian talent and quality that have made you a unique. player. For the way you are on the pitch and also in life. Your fantasy and your happiness were always crucial for the team in achieving all its great success”. A CAPTAIN'S WORK “You know perfectly well that apart from the trophies and the successes we have achieved, the values of Real Madrid, through which we have accomplished all that we are, are always present. These values were passed on to you when you first arrived as an 18-year-old lad. The same values that you have transmitted over the years and that you will continue to convey to ensure that this universal feeling of madridismo continues to grow".
“I wish you all the best both for you and for all your loved ones. You know that Real Madrid is and always will be your home. This is the place where you experienced so many magical and unforgettable moments, the place where you developed as a player and as a person, and where your greatest dreams came true”. MARCELO: “THIS IS A DAY FOR JOY, NOT SADNESS” “I'd like to thank the club, my teammates, who I've been lucky enough to play with during all these years, the coaches I've had, the kitmen, who are like family to me, the people who work in the residence, the security staff, those who work behind the scenes and do the dirty work. We just play football, but for us to do it well and have clean clothes there is a lot of work behind it and I want to thank the best club in the world for allowing us to enjoy this. We do what we love and we 've got everything we need to be able to enjoy it. I've made history at the best club in the world and I want to thank everyone who forms part of it”. “I'd also like to thank my wife, who's been by my side since I started my career as a footballer and has given me two beautiful children. We've built a family together and I am what I am today and have the strength I have today, probably because of you, Clarice”. FOLLOWING RAÚL’S FOOTSTEPS “When I left Brazil I set my sights on playing for a big European team and I signed for Madrid at the age of 18. It's been a tremendous adventure. Inside I thought I could reach the top and today I walk out of here as the player with the most trophies in the history of the best club in the world. Raúl, who I call capi (captain), was so kind to me when I arrived. You taught me so much as captain and when my son was born, you gave us a basket full of things. I'll never forget that. I saw you as a captain and an example and I wanted to follow that. I can leave here grateful to you for that”. MEMORIES “Today is a day for joy. We're in tears because we've got a lot of emotions and memories. I'm really happy, I'm leaving with my head held high. My family feels proud of me, I'm lucky. I've been lucky to have been supported by people who've been able to help me go so far. Thank you very much to everyone. This isn't a goodbye, I don't feel like I'm leaving Madrid. If one day I come back one and ask for a ticket and I can't (get one), you're going to have a problem. When I said at the Bernabéu that we can rest assured about the future of Madrid, it's because it's very promising, as it's always been, and I also include my son, who's in the youth team. This is a day for joy, not sadness. I arrived as a boy and I'm leaving as a man”. GOLD AND DIAMOND INSIGNIA The event was also attended by members of the board of directors, manager Carlo Ancelotti and teammates like Carvajal and Asensio. Club president Florentino Pérez presented Marcelo with the Real Madrid gold and diamond insignia and the event was rounded off with a family photo of the 25 trophies that the Brazilian has lifted during his spell at the club.
Thank you Marcelo!
