Technology and Talent
Delivering better legal services requires more than AI. It takes legal expertise, the right technology, high quality data and effective workflows.
We equip our lawyers and business professionals with the best-in-class tools, leveraging leading AI platforms including OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Microsoft Copilot, and others, integrated into our workflows and tailored to each matter.
Our Applied AI Practice sits at the core of this capability, bringing together lawyers, data scientists, and technologists to solve complex challenges across transactions, disputes, compliance and advisory work. Our Global eDiscovery and Data Advisory (GEDA) team leverages advanced analytics and AI to large-scale data challenges, delivering fast, data-driven insights for high-stakes matters.

We will empower our human talent
We will empower our human talent
Our people remain the core of our firm. AI will be used to augment, not replace, human judgement, creativity, and professional expertise. This will allow our people to apply their expertise with greater consistency, insight, and reach. We will invest in training our people so that they can harness the power of AI.

We take governance seriously
We take governance seriously
Appropriate governance is central to our strategy. We will not allow AI to act autonomously on matters that require legal advice, professional judgement, or ethical consideration. Humans, and our leaders, will remain accountable for all the work we do, regardless of the tools we use.
6
We will protect confidentiality
We will protect confidentiality
Client confidentiality is fundamental to our obligations as a profession. We will use AI in ways that maintain the highest levels of confidentiality, security, responsible data stewardship and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

We understand that AI is not perfect
We understand that AI is not perfect
AI is powerful, but not perfect. We recognize the limitations and will implement appropriate checks, validations and quality assurance processes that are calibrated to risk and embedded in our service delivery.
Leveraging AI to cut review time and costs
Challenge: Following a Data Subject Access Request (DSAR) by an employee in the EU, we analyzed a dataset of over 200,000 documents to identify a material subset containing personal identifying information (PII), privileged material or confidential business information within a two-week deadline.
A subset of 6,000 documents then required review to identify disclosable data, redactions, and privileged materials to comply with data protection regulations, all within three business days.
Approach: Our Data & Cybersecurity practice collaborated with GEDA team to develop a bespoke DSAR workflow leveraging Relativity aiR to identify documents meeting production criteria. Relativity analytics tools were then used to group similar documents, remove duplicative content, and exclude emails from review where appropriate.
Impact: Reduced review time, enabling the team to meet tight deadlines while minimizing costs.
Designing an AI‑enabled employment advisory service for a global tech company
Challenge: A leading global technology company faced high volumes of employment queries across 25+ jurisdictions, making it difficult to deliver consistent, timely advice at scale.
Approach: Our Applied AI team partnered with our Employment lawyers to design AI-enabled workflows drawing on Firm know-how and client-specific playbooks. These workflows generate draft advice as part of a human-in-the-loop process, ensuring consistency and quality.
Impact: Delivered 100% legal accuracy, faster turnaround and a 30% reduction in cost.
Building an AI-enabled IP Solution for strategic decision‑making
Challenge: Companies are seeking more cost-efficient ways to manage large, global IP portfolios while exploring how AI can improve outcomes.
Approach: In partnership with MaxVal, we developed our 360° IP Solution, built on Salesforce’s AI-ready enterprise platform. The solution integrates secure, intuitive technology with our global IP expertise, best-in-class workflows and AI capabilities to enable streamlined portfolio management.
Impact: Enabled more efficient portfolio management, lower costs and smarter, data-driven IP strategy.
Untangling complex IP and tech licensing for a multi‑business carve‑out
Challenge: Ahead of a strategic transaction involving the separation of multiple business units, a global technology company needed to quickly audit its IP and technology assets, including a large, disorganized portfolio of licensing agreements.
Approach: Working closely with our transactional team, our Applied AI Practice developed custom AI workflows to extract key data across the contract set. These workflows created a structured, transaction-ready view of assets, business unit mapping, in-force licenses and key licensing terms.
Impact: Reduced manual review effort by approximately 90%, freeing up client and external counsel teams to focus on higher-value aspects of the transaction.
Delivering a rapid, AI‑enabled global compliance audit
Challenge: A global professional services company needed to assess the effectiveness of its compliance programs across multiple areas. It required consistent benchmarking of risk controls, analysis of extensive stakeholder interviews and rapid remediation recommendations.
Approach: Our Applied AI Practice developed custom AI-enabled workflows to analyze interview transcripts and extract key compliance data points. These workflows surfaced risk indicators and created a structured foundation for legal analysis and reporting.
Impact: Accelerated review and synthesis cycles by weeks, improved the consistency and auditability of findings, and created a scalable global database of risk patterns.
