Veterinary Externship Program
Take the first step in your career with clinical rotations. Work with a coach to provide wellness care, perform exams, and manage cases in a small animal practice. Gain experience and see our commitment to quality care firsthand.
Guidelines:
Externships last two to three weeks, with flexibility for up to 8 weeks. Schedules include days, evenings, and weekends. Applicants must be enrolled in an accredited veterinary medicine program and authorized to work in the U.S.
Student Ambassador Program
Connect your peers, college campus, and Banfield hospitals. As a student at an accredited veterinary college, you'll deepen your knowledge of Banfield's culture and practices while sharing learning opportunities with classmates. Partner with a Director of Veterinary Quality or Area Chief of Staff to plan campus outreach events, helping students explore Banfield programs and career paths.
Veterinary Technician Externship Program
Experience life as a vital team member at Banfield. Paired with a credentialed coach, you'll assist with patient visits and procedures and gain hands-on experience while working at the top of your license.
Guidelines:
Placements typically last two to 12 weeks, with flexible scheduling, including days, evenings, and weekends. Participants must be enrolled in an AVMA/CVTEA-accredited Veterinary Technology program and authorized to work in the U.S.

Guidelines:
Participants must be a non-clinical-year veterinary student, enrolled in an accredited veterinary medicine program and authorized to work in the U.S. The program lasts two to 10 weeks during the summer, with flexible hours plus evening and weekend options.
