Half Dutch and half Mexican, and I always thought that was a unique combo Named after my Dutch great-great-aunt; nobody pronounces my name correctly, but I’m never offended by it Occasionally a stand-in for my husband’s social media projects at work and was on a billboard once An animal lover and self-proclaimed “cat lady”. I also have the sweetest pit bull ever. A major control freak and have to remind myself to “let it go” frequently All about camping, fishing and hiking and I go on annual kayak trips at Turkey Run Married to someone four inches shorter than me – without heels on A band geek at heart; I played clarinet for seven years, piano for a couple and now handbells in my church choir An avid concert-goer – I go to about 20 concerts a year A person with MAJOR anxiety. Agreeing to be featured here made me dizzy and my throat close up.

The 12th of 15 kids – this definitely taught me how to get along with people Amazed that my parents found time to establish the Christian Family Movement in Detroit in the mid-1960s. Their motto was “Inter-Faith, Inter-Racial,” which was ahead of their time. Proud of my wife of 35 years, Maggie, who volunteers for hospice A dad to four great kids (Kevin, Chris, Ryan and Anna) who live in four different time zones, all doing their own thing A fan of big bonfires – I do miss the homework-burning bonfires we had at the end of each school year Enjoying being a teacher at the Notre Dame Law School as an adjunct professor An adrenaline junkie – from cage diving with great whites to skydiving. I had to pull my emergency ripcord once, it was awesome. Happy that I joined the Barnes & Thornburg family four years ago – it has been great Grateful that I had the chance to visit my grandparents’ village in Lebanon – it served as a reminder that we are blessed in America Someone with no relation to Ralph Nader, although I’ve been accused of being unsafe at any speed
