Technology and design help Peugeot to stand out
“We have the most extensive line-up of EVs of any mainstream brand in Europe,” says UK Managing Director Nicola Dobson.
“We’ve invested in our products – cars and vans – and in building awareness and knowledge around owning and living with EVs.”
THE PEUGEOT E-408The new Peugeot E-408 reflects this investment, with the battery electric vehicle (BEV) variant offering a range of up to 283 miles and 20%-to-80% after a 30-minute charge. Like all Peugeot BEVs, the E-408 benefits from up to eight-year Peugeot care warranty. It is priced from £34,195, or £32,695 after the £1,500 Electric Car Grant has been deducted and has a benefit-in-kind (BIK) tax from £1,366.
The vehicle’s design is striking, with Dobson explaining: “We’ve made it look even better, with a re-styled front end incorporating an illuminated Peugeot logo and front grille, new 3-claw lighting signature both complimented by a striking new ‘Flare Green’ metallic paint, all of which really make the vehicle stand out on the road.”
The E-408 design adheres to Peugeot’s brand values – improving the driving sensation, demonstrating French charisma and showcasing how it is built to last.
With electric vehicles becoming increasingly integrated into fleets, Peugeot has committed to accelerating accessibility with a wide range of models – all of which are available with electric powertrain variants.
FLEET SECTOR GROWTH
Peugeot has gone from strength to strength in the fleet space, ending 2025 with an overall market share of 4.5% in the brand’s third consecutive year of growth. The first quarter of 2026 has seen Peugeot achieve high light commercial vehicle (LCV) performance as one of the top three brands in terms of sales.
“These results and the popularity of our vehicles reflect our ongoing commitment to consumer choice and driving pleasure,” says Dobson.
“We look forward to building on that as we progress throughout the year.”
The brand has its sights set on further growth in fleet into 2027, building on the success of its distinctive design language.
Dobson says: “our styling has really evolved and continues to evolve. We now are in a position where all our models are really distinctive on the road, and so they appeal to the customer.”
To ensure its competitive presence in fleet, Peugeot have repositioned its models to better resonate with fleet customers. All mainstream passenger cars including the recently launched new 308 and new 408 have lower pricing” explains Dobson.
“That means reduced business rates and lower BIK for company car users as well.”
INNOVATIVE TECHNOLOGIESPursuing innovation through engineering, Peugeot has invested in new technologies, such as its Polygon concept car which features new Hypersquare steering wheel incorporating steer-by-wire technology; which has allowed designers to re-think and re-design the Peugeot i-Cockpit.
In this way, Peugeot is working to enable greater driving sensation for the drivers that spend a lot of time in their vehicles.
“Driving pleasure is at the centre of everything that we do within Peugeot,” says Dobson.
“It’s demonstrated by the diverse product range, our powertrain line-up, and the multiple BEVs that we have available.”
