JULES ROBINSON
When styling a table, my goal is to balance style and comfort so that the set-up feels inviting. I love adding pops of colour through napkins, flowers or small decor elements like candles.
Entertain
For the MAFS star, entrepreneur and author, summer at home is “all about creating a warm, effortless atmosphere where family and guests can unwind and have some laughs”. According to Jules, the best way to achieve this is through upbeat music, delicious food, free-flowing drinks and a simple set-up. Start with statement-making furniture to set the scene.
Jules Robinson makes a case for hosting at home and creating memorable moments with loved ones.

On the menu
When it comes to dining in, Jules likes to keep the menu simple and seasonal. Think fresh fruit, ice blocks for the kids, summer salads and barbecued prawns paired with ice-cold drinks. Set the table with pops of greenery, colourful serving trays and vibrant napkins to add character and a personal touch.

The kitchen is often considered the heart of the home, but for Jules it’s her spacious, sunlit living area that brings friends and family together. A large, modular sofa offers plenty of seats for guests to recline, while flexible pieces like side tables, stools and ottomans can be easily rearranged at a moment’s notice – making the space as versatile as it is relaxing.
Turn your living room into a holiday-at-home oasis with a bright and breezy colour palette and loads of textures.
Up the cosy factor by mixing and matching a variety of textures. “Mix soft textiles like plush throw blankets, pillows in different fabrics and stylish rugs to add depth and warmth to the space,” says Jules.
Comfort zone
Having the most comfortable couch that we can all fit on together is really important.

of play
Transform your kids’ bedroom into a magical hideout with a few simple touches, from beautiful wall hangings to a playful ‘house bed’. Whether they enjoy dinosaurs, fairytales or space exploration, a little imagination and creativity can go a long way to creating a bedroom they love for sleep and play.

World of fun
“My boys have the ultimate bedroom! It’s full of pops of colour and character. The furniture is all simple and timeless, but I decorate the room with art and toys to match their personalities,” says Jules. Look to minimalistic tables and tactile rugs to build a children’s bedroom from the ground up.
As the mother of two young boys – baby Carter and four-year-old Ollie – Jules is an expert at creating a space that’s both stylish and suitable for family life.

With warmer weather and longer evenings, it’s time to take the party outdoors. Create an alfresco space that’s like an extension of the home, complete with cosy sofas, mood lighting and functional furniture.
Steal the spotlight
Accent chairs can bring instant personality to a space. As expert stylist Jerrie-Joy says: “There is no excuse not to have a fun accent chair in your space when there are so many different style options.” She suggests mixing and matching chairs in unexpected colours, shapes and materials – like velvet or leather – to add warmth and character without committing to a big, bold piece.
Brave, risk-taking colour combinations are delightfully fun in interiors right now.

WITH JERRIE-JOY – STYLE GURU
The latest trend in interior design is all about mixing and matching, and side tables are a low-risk way to experiment with your style. “If you need two side tables, get different ones and try different materials. One could be wood, and one marble-topped,” says Jerrie-Joy. The result? A space that feels effortlessly cool and a little unexpected.

Smaller pieces like side tables are a good way to add some pops of colour to your space.
“I love to rely on lamp light to create a mood,” shares Jerrie-Joy, who always uses warm white bulbs to inspire a cosier atmosphere. When choosing a lamp, Jerrie-Joy suggests looking for pieces with interesting shapes or unique materials – like sculptural bases or rattan shades – that double as decor. “The best type of lamp can be a conversation piece on its own, even when it’s turned off,” she says.
