From the French Riviera to Sydney Harbour, Matthieu Blazy's Cruise 2026/27 collection brings a new wave of Parisian chic to Australian shores.
“Biarritz, the glamorous French seaside town where Gabrielle Chanel opened her first couture house in 1915, provided the inspiration for Blazy's latest offering.”
Chanel jacket, $14,550, bikini top, $1370, and bottoms, $1030, skirt, $5990, shoes, $2140, bag, $13,290, and earrings, $1450.
The result? A little French Riviera romance, a little Sydney summer magic and a reminder that great fashion, much like a great city, is at its best when it embraces the unexpected.
For his first Cruise collection, Blazy has taken the House's familiar codes and given them an exhilarating new energy. Think classic tweed with a contemporary twist, fluid skirts, bold stripes, playful prints and unexpected textures. There are raffia details, intricate embellishments and flashes of colour, alongside the kind of beautifully considered pieces that make CHANEL so enduring. It's sophisticated without being serious, luxurious without feeling precious, and designed for women who have places to go.
BONJOUR
SYDNEY
ydney is having a CHANEL moment. For the first time in the House's history, the French fashion giant is bringing an official runway show to Australia, with Matthieu Blazy's Cruise 2026/27 collection set to make its Sydney debut. And if the collection's first outing in Biarritz is anything to go by, we're in for something spectacular.
S
It's a fitting meeting of two coastal worlds. Biarritz, the glamorous French seaside town where Gabrielle Chanel opened her first couture house in 1915, provided the inspiration for Blazy's latest offering. More than a century later, that same spirit of sun-soaked freedom, irreverence and effortless elegance feels perfectly at home in Sydney, where beach culture and city life have always gone hand in hand.
To celebrate the collection's arrival on Australian shores, marie claire took CHANEL on its own Sydney adventure. Photographed in the lush surrounds of Wendy Whiteley's Secret Garden before heading to the sparkling waters of Sydney Harbour, our exclusive fashion shoot captures the collection against two of the city's most enchanting backdrops.
