he best dressing is the kind you don't have to think too hard about, but other people can't stop thinking about. And Kate Spade New York's Spring 2026 collection has tapped just that energy, reaching back into the brand's '90s and 2000s archives to pull
together pieces that could have appeared on the effortlessly stylish, youthful and eclectic wardrobes of New York's Carrie Bradshaws.
It's a fitting inheritance. Founded in 1993 by former Mademoiselle accessories editor Kate Brosnahan Spade, the brand was built on a deceptively simple premise, a functional bag that was also stylish. Her bags became a symbol of the era, so synonymous with the city that the brand was relaunched as Kate Spade New York, and there was a moment when you couldn't walk a block in the city without seeing one. Gwyneth Paltrow was a fan.
It wouldn't be Kate Spade without a new fleet of accessories. The Duo, the season's hero handbag, carries four ways across new colourways — Laurel Leaf, Pale Sapphirine, Melon Ball and crinkle metallic — its convertible silhouette as utilitarian as it is luxurious. The mini shoulder bag and large crossbody silhouette is designed to be styled three ways: as a crossbody, shoulder bag or clutch. The Loop returns with its signature slouchy shoulder shape in crinkle patent and snake-embossed finishes, and the Halo bucket, available in three sizes, arrives with pleated wave detailing and a woven finish.
On feet, the K as in Kate sneaker returns in seasonal tones — Melon Ball, Venus Green, Pristine Pool — while the new KS Drift silhouette will bring sporty ease to any look.
Jewellery lands the season's final note with characteristic wit. The Geo Pop collection delivers bold geometric pieces in mixed metals — earrings, bangles, necklaces, cuffs — that carry the charm-like playfulness the brand does so well. And the iconic Spade Flower monogram returns reimagined in gold and silver across hoops, bracelets and necklaces: understated where it needs to be, and unmistakably Kate Spade everywhere else.

"The perfect every-season dress. The fit was so flattering while still being totally relaxed. I can see myself wearing this alone in summer, but for autumn I'll be styling with socks and pointed heels, and a T-shirt underneath."

"This slinky pea green polo is so flattering. It has a classically American collegiate feel, preppy and sweet, while being a little bit sexy, thanks to its slightly sheer nature."

"My floaty organza camisole felt like the kind of 2000s vintage find you'd scramble over at a consignment store. It feels so feminine and delicate but is versatile enough to elevate an office wardrobe – I styled it with the Straight Leg Jeans – or worn with a mini skirt in summer."
