Bret Shillingstad, MD, CMIO at Nuance Healthcare Dr. Shillingstad is the Executive Director of Optimization Services at Nuance. He is a general surgeon who co-founded and ran a Multispecialty Group. He has almost 13 years of Clinical Informatics Leadership experience with Epic as the Director of Clinical Informatics. Dr. Shillingstad’s passion in helping physicians optimally utilize Epic lead him to joining Nuance and advancing our Optimization Services team’s mission of improving outcomes, quality measures, and clinical efficiency for our Epic clients. Jose Talavera, BS, RHIT, Director of HIM at Casa Colina Hospital and Centers for HealthCare Mr. Talavera is the Director of the Health Information Management Department at the Casa Colina Health System. With over six years at Casa Colina, and 15 years of healthcare experience, Mr. Talavera brings a unique and comprehensive background to his department. He joined the IAHIA board in 2020 and is now the administrator of the enterprise document management system for the Casa Colina Health System
