THE Challenge
The leadtime of furniture and installing while other trades were still working were our main challenges on this project. We worked to constantly coordinate the furniture schedule with the client and pivot/find alternates when we saw a leadtime that would not meet install. We ideally like to install all FRINGE and furniture items after the interior trades are done, but did not have the luxury of time during this install. We worked to efficiently place key areas and protect finished areas as we went.

The goal was to create a space that attracted students by the amenities offered. The attention to detail and thoughtfulness was put into the finishing touches.
bkm needed to provide energized, communal collaboration spaces to draw students out of their dorm rooms. bkm focused on providing a range of options (choice + control) and the tools necessary to make these high functioning spaces. There was a lot of thought put into how these spaces would be "used" and actually perform at their highest possible level. bkm focused on access to power, laptop tables and a range of gathering and working spaces.
Sea Breeze is a development company who values beautiful and sustainable architecture. This also translates into their interior spaces and furnishings. By engaging our bkm FRINGE team, we were able to prioritize what the spaces wanted to emit and truly customize Sea Breeze's brand on campus.
bkm ultimately helped improve wellbeing on campus by creating a multitude of amenity spaces for students to work, live, study and connect.

Sea Breeze Properties wanted this space to first and foremost attract a younger generation of students. They wanted to create a beautiful space that not only looked great, but could perform to the standards that students needed. The vision was to create a mini campus within a campus where there were a multitude of amenity options right at their fingertips. The conversation of bkm FRINGE started from the beginning of the process and came to fruition when the client saw the difference it could make. bkm FRINGE was chosen due to our design eye, our dedication and ability to deliver a beautiful end result with a bow on top. Sea Breeze Properties understood the importance of investing in their space through design and decor. They understood the importance of focusing on these areas to attract and retain students; they valued our detailed design eye and trusted our expertise in bringing their brand to life.
NOTABLE PROJECT MOMENT
Sea Breeze Properties was originally working with a different furniture vendor. We had an existing relationship with SRA, who knew we were the right fit for the job after understanding what the client was looking to achieve. bkm put together a proposal that touched on the key areas of investment to allow the space to hit all of the desired marks.
