In September 2009, Black Diamond and the Fort Nelson First Nation entered into an exclusive equity-based agreement called Black Diamond Dene LP.
The goal of this business is to provide customers in the Horn River Basin with a quality, competitively priced product while allowing the Fort Nelson First Nation people an opportunity to participate and benefit in the development of their traditional lands. The partnership is structured to improve local capital and offer community members the chance to start their own businesses and create sustainable careers.

Black Diamond Cygnus
In January 2011, Black Diamond entered into our second Indigenous partnership within Treaty 8 British Columbia, signing an agreement with the West Moberly First Nations, located southwest of Fort St. John, British Columbia.
This agreement is equity-based and provides both Workforce Housing and modular space solutions to customers operating in the Nation’s traditional territory. Black Diamond Cygnus furthers our company’s commitment to meaningful Indigenous engagement.

In June 2012, Black Diamond Group entered into an exclusive partnership agreement with the Beaver Lake Cree Nation (BLCN) near Lac La Biche, Alberta, called Black Diamond Nehiyawak.
Black Diamond Nehiyawak is a majority-owned company offering the full suite of Black Diamond services from our Workforce Housing and modular space solutions businesses. The partnership works with companies operating within the traditional territory of BLCN.

In September 2020 Mi’kmaq of Nova Scotia and Black Diamond Limited Partnership (MBD) entered into a formal partnership. MBD was formed to pursue opportunities related to the Goldboro LNG project partnership and generate opportunity for all Nova Scotia Mi’kmaq communities.

In October of 2020, Black Diamond entered into a partnership with a local business in Pond Inlet in order to pursue opportunities in the Baffin region of Nunavut. This is a 100% Inuit-owned business which also allowed Black Diamond Nunavut to receive both its NNI and NTI certifications.

Since 2010, Black Diamond Cygnus has partnered with the West Moberly First Nation to provide solutions to companies operating within the region.
Black Diamond Cygnus has been successful in winning projects within West Moberly First Nations territory which included Lodges in support of the Coastal GasLink project, and our open lodges, Little Prairie and Sunset Prairie Lodge.
Black Diamond Cygnus has been the recipient of numerous awards including the BC Aboriginal Business Award – Industry Partnership in 2012 and 2017.
