NAIL ART
EXPRESS:
Gelish reimagines nail art services with two easy-to-use, must-have additions to your kit.
We’ve seen the return of snakeskin to fashion – and now nails. But this animal print takes skill and time to create during an appointment, until now. LaTara Hayes, editorial and New York Fashion Week nail artist, uses Gelish Blooming Gel to simplify this fashion-forward look. “Blooming Gel is the best for snakeskin art. Clients love art that looks complicated, but we can make it easy.”
Learn how Hayes transforms her clients’ nails into snakeskin print:
Apply two coats of color your choice. Cure each coat for 30 seconds.
Apply one coat of Gelish Blooming Gel; do not cure. Use a dotter tool to create rectangle shapes down center of the nail. Each rectangle does not need a perfect shape.
Repeat making rectangle shapes on both sides of the nail. Polish will start to bloom. There should be 3 columns of rectangles.
Cure the art on top of the uncured Gelish Blooming Gel.
Top coat the nail and cure for 60 seconds.

WATERCOLOR
For nail artist Rachael Waggoner, the Gelish Blooming Gel works “not too fast and not too slow to achieve the desired look.” Watch how she uses the Blooming Gel to transform her tips into a watercolor painting in just a few strokes.
To create this look, Waggoner applied a coat of the Gelish Blooming Gel over the cured gel. Leaving the Blooming Gel uncured, she used a small, angled brush to pick up the gel colors of her choice and applied the shades directly to the nail in small strokes. They instantly began to bloom, creating the desired watercolor effect.

Tie dye is a forever trend. The fun, complex patterns have become a staple in fashion and beauty, but difficult to recreate on nails. With the Blooming Gel, tie dye is made easy by simply dabbing your desired colors and watching them blossom. Nail artist Emily Nash used the Gelish Blooming Gel to create an easy, summer-inspired tie dye look.
Nash did a white base layer, then used a flared nail brush to grab pairs of colors. She applied them in a fan shape until they covered the nail for a fun tie dye effect.

Looking to do more than one nail at once to save even more time? Strand offers one of her favorite time-saving tips for the Gelish Blooming Gel. “Apply the Blooming Gel in your desired design, then freeze the design in place with the Gelish Touch LED-light (5-6 second cure) before repeating on next nail. When all the nails on one hand are done, fully cure all nails at same time for 30 seconds.”

Ombre nails also make a great foundation for more nail art designs if your clients are looking for that extra flare. To put a twist on the ombre, check out the videos below:
Use tape to create contrasting lines over your ombre nail art. For this look, the black and white dip powders make for a spooky combination, just in time for Halloween.
Apply Gelish Xpress Dip Ombre Coat and cure for 30 seconds. Apply striping tape in the design of your choice. Dip the nail gradually into white dip powder. Brush off excess powder, and dip again. Gently remove the striping tape and cure for 30 seconds. Finish the look with your chosen Gelish Top Coat and cure for the advised time, and cleanse if needed.
BLACK AND WHITE OMBRE WITH STRIPES
Once you’ve applied the Gelish Xpress Dip Ombre Coat and cured for 30 seconds, gradually dip the nail in the dip powder of your choice. To create a multi-colored gradient, gradually dip the nail in your second color of choice. Cure for 30 seconds.
Using a mini striper nail art brush, apply a gel top coat in imperfect stripes, similar to those of a zebra. Cure for 30 seconds. To create the ombre stripes, use a chrome shade like the Gelish Chrome Stix in Gold Holographic to color the stripes halfway, then the Gelish Chrome Stix in Silver Holographic to the other end of the stripes, connecting in the middle. Finish with your chosen Gelish Top Coat and cure for the advised time, and cleanse if needed.
PINK AND GOLD ZEBRA-INSPIRED
Animal print is making a comeback and popping up in the Fall fashion trends; a gradient nail is a perfect base to host these in-demand patterns. This look shows you a few fun ways to use the Gelish Xpress Dip Ombre Coat, including a multi-colored fade (imagine a sunset), zebra-like stripes, and a chrome ombre to complete the look. Use one, two, or all these techniques together.
