Neutrals (Nt) neutral base for balanced neutral tones. Ash Beige (Abv) green and blue-violet base to neutralize warmth and provide a cool result inspired by trending earthy tones. “The HydraGloss color families are exactly what stylists need and are using,” explains Melody Larissa. “Not only are there shades on the cooler side--because everyone loves a smokey cool blonde--they also have stunning shades on the neutral and warm sides. My favorite family is the Gbv (gold-beige) family. I do a lot of bronde looks and I feel the Gbv shades give me the best results. Formulas

Prep the hair with PRAVANA Purify and Revive PRIME Spray to diminish hard water mineral buildup. Divide the hair into three sections. Isolate a 1-inch face frame section, take a radial parting from ear to ear and in the front top crown create a “half sun.” Then create another “half sun” in the nape. Apply the lightener to back-to-back slices in the face frame section. Moving to the top front crown section, apply lightener to diagonal forward partings from the “half sun” section towards the face, mimicking the sun’s rays. Pro Tip: These sections can be woven for a more diffused look or sliced for a more dramatic look. Repeat Step 4 in the back of the head. Process up to 55 minutes checking every 5 to 10 minutes until the hair reaches Level 9. Cleanse the hair with PRAVANA’s Color Protect Cleanse and towel-dry. Apply ChromaSilk HydraGloss Formula 3 to the face frame section. Apply ChromaSilk HydraGloss Formula 1 as a shadow root dragging it down further in the back and simply tapping it towards the front for a natural look. Apply ChromaSilk HydraGloss Formula 2 to the remaining midlengths and ends. Process 20 minutes at room temperature. Cleanse and condition with PRAVANA’s Color Protect regimen.

Going darker isn’t easy. Balance and dimension are critical for a realistic result. Becky Betts, PRAVANA Digital Team Lead & Trainer, @The_Blonding_Rebel, found the answer. PRAVANA ChromaSilk HydraGloss 45g 1B delivered the cool, clear, high shine results that makes this inky hue so dramatic!

Prep the hair with PRAVANA Purify and Revive PRIME Spray to diminish hard water mineral build-up Divide the hair into eight sections. Isolate the fringe, then create a mohawk section leaving two side sections and divide the back into four sections. On each side of the head starting 1½-inch above the ear apply lightening formula to three back-to back slices off of diagonal forward partings. In the fringe section start 1-inch above the hairline, and apply the lightening formula to two back-to-back horizontal slices. Process up to 55 minutes, checking every 5-10 minutes and remove the formula when the hair reaches Level 9/10. While the lightener is processing, apply ChromaSilk HydraGloss Formula 1 to the base by creating ½-inch sections. Extend the application 1-inch or 2-inches in alternating sections. Return to the same ½-inch sections and alternate Formula 1 and Formula 2 on midlengths and ends. Pro Tip: Use a foil and/or cotton to create a barrier to prevent the color from bleeding into the lightened sections. Process the gloss formulas for 20 minutes at room temperature. Cleanse the hair with PRAVANA Color Protect Cleanse and towel-dry the hair. Apply Formula 1 to pre-lightened peekaboo sections. Create ½-inch partings and apply from roots to ends. Process 20 minutes at room temperature. Cleanse and Condition with PRAVANA’s Color Protect regimen.

Prep the hair with PRAVANA Purify and Revive PRIME Spray to diminish hard water minerals. Divide the hair into five sections. Isolate the fringe then divide the rest into 4 quadrants. About an inch above the hairline, create two back-to-back teasylights in the fringe section and apply the lightening formula. On each side, create diagonal forward partings and then create three teasylights about an inch apart. In the back, create a V-shape with two diagonal back partings and create teasylights. Repeat Step 5 throughout the back of the head leaving about 1½-2 inches between partings; 8-10 teasylights in total. Process up to 55 minutes checking every 5 to 10 minutes until the hair reaches Level 8/9. Cleanse the hair with PRAVANA’s Color Protect Cleanse and dry the hair. Apply the ChromaSilk HydraGloss Formula from roots to ends. Process 20 minutes at room temperature. Cleanse and Condition with PRAVANA’s Color Protect regimen.
