Journeys
The winners of our annual SALONS OF THE YEAR competition explore the details behind their interior design decisions.
Outstanding salon design takes the client on a journey. It sparks an emotion, sets the dial for the salon’s energy, engages the guest in the experience, authentically markets the business, and even communicates the brand’s intent. The flow and functionality of the salon’s design also honors the people who work within its walls, and in turn, that bolsters the business’s culture and boosts staff retention. Every one of our 24 SALONS OF THE YEAR honorees takes you on a personal design journey, and each one of them is thrilling. While a picture gives you a glimpse of the design, videos can say so much more. You'll hear from the owners themselves who point out their favorite design features and how they were accomplished. This is the perfect opportunity to take inspiration and gather ideas for your next renovation project or build out.

High ceilings and large windows flood the reception area with light, while the sage green tiles and wood accents add natural warmth. A makeup bar counter features backlit mirrors, enhancing the experience in the elevated retail space. The elegant 1920s-era chandelier from Vienna was brought from the salon’s previous location. “We took it down strand by strand, washed every crystal, and hung it in our beautiful new space,” she adds. The salon floor is the heartbeat of the salon. The open concept floor energizes both guests and team members. The design flows effortlessly, creating space to breathe, move, and connect, while enhancing the quality of light for technical services. “We have broken up the main salon floor to also create a quieter space if a guest needs an element of privacy. That room also serves as a meeting space for team meetings and technical education,” Bills says.

Where Lifestyle Meets Wellness
From the facial bar adjacent to the retail area to the walk-through color bar, intentional design based on research is around every corner at Graeber & Company.
The idea for the walkthrough color lab was borrowed from the restaurant industry. Clients can see their formula being mixed with precision using Vish, which supports the salon’s mission for sustainability, accuracy, and transparency. “It’s an invitation into the process and a statement of artistry and trust. The Lather Lounge is intentionally tucked away to create a true moment of peace. With reclining chairs, paraffin hand treatments, jade eye masks, and serene soundscapes, a shampoo is more than a rinse; it’s a signature ritual of relaxation and renewal. Off the main salon is the collaboration space. Designed like a modern conference room, it’s where the team gathers for education, brainstorming, leadership meetings, and creative collaboration. Says Bills, “This space reflects our deep commitment to growth—from mentoring emerging artists to refining the guest experience, it’s where innovation begins.”
Every inch of the reimagined Graeber & Company elevates the guest experience by bringing together beauty, wellness, and intention. “Our new location was designed not just to look beautiful, but to reflect who we are as a legacy lifestyle company rooted in care, creativity, and connection,” says Owner Shelby Bills. When Bills researched salon and spa concepts, she learned that experts advise that skincare services should be within 20 feet of the retail area. So Graber & Company designed a facial bar for guest convenience, results, and increased sales. This open-concept treatment area offers effective, customized skin treatments in a relaxed yet elevated setting. Backlit mirrors, weighted blankets, marble countertops, and clean lines help deliver simplified skincare without sacrificing luxury. “It’s perfect for guests with busy schedules or those who crave a little add-on indulgence,” she says.
Just a few steps down the hall is Roast & Vine. It's more than just a coffee and wine bar—it’s a thoughtfully designed space where lifestyle and wellness intersect. And, a place where the Graeber & Company experience continues before and after a guest’s appointment. The design echoes the salon's signature aesthetic of natural materials, gold accents, and modern comfort. “Every corner was created with intention, from the layered lighting that transitions throughout the day to the inviting textures, moody vibe, and open flow that encourages guests to make themselves at home,” Bills says. “Here, they can enjoy a delicious latte, a glass of wine, a specialty tea or matcha, pasties, and small bites.”

INSPIRATION CENTER
Other barbershop features encourage clients to use Parlor as an auxiliary workspace. “We have a circle formation meeting area in the front, a dining table, and a full bar stool area with access to outlets, so guests can plug in and use the barbershop’s WIFI,” says Kayla. “Between bar offerings and the workspace area, guests are even able to take a conference call.” Finally, the nostalgic décor and fun experience features enhance the Parlor experience, making it stand out from other local barbershops. “This includes animals mounted on the walls, deer antler chandeliers, custom arcade games, surround sound SONOS, an art installation of comic book covers, and a Wounded Warriors barrel that gets signed by those who serve in the armed forces,” Bobby shares.
To achieve this, the owners introduced features that are not incorporated in their salon locations. “Instead of having a beer cooler, we added a full-service bar,” says Bobby. “We have seasonal and traditional cocktails that all of our team members need to master. We partner with local breweries, liquor manufacturers, and even coffee distributors to get our community involved in creating the drink menu. We have a full liquor licenses, and host a Happy Hour F.A.C. (Friday After Class) in our college community that we rebranded to Fades and Cocktails. The bar also serves kiddy mocktails and root beer floats in classic diner glasses, so our underage clientele enjoy their own experience.”

barbershop OF THE YEAR:
Parlor by Thompson & Company
With two established Thompson & Company salons in Iowa City and Crosspark, Iowa, Owners Bobby and Kayla Thompson had a new vision in mind when it came to their grooming concept. The salons had success with Parlor sections designed in the back of each, but the owners wanted a separate area where men could gather, sit in baseball-style seating by the beer cooler and TV, and enjoy their haircut. The resulting Parlor is their first branch off the mother company. “We envisioned this space with our missing being U.N.I.T.E.D. for Union, Nobility, Ingenuity, Tradition, Elevate, and Design,” says Kayla. “To envision our design, we asked men what 'masculine' meant to them. We wanted to get back to the idea that the barbershop is not only a place to get your hair cut, but it’s a social event and gathering space as it once was in the past.”
Knowing that community and connection are as important as the experience, Parlor by Thompson and Company delivers with a full bar, gaming areas, workspaces and nostalgic décor.
A Grooming Gathering Space
Barbershop of the Year
When you walk into BASE ONE, you enter the Gathering Space, and are greeted with a neon sign, a vibrant custom mural featuring the brand’s pillar of ‘Spark, Connect, Boost + Fill,’ the free sips bar and grab + go fridge, and a thoughtfully designed seating area. A guest can check in for her service at the express kiosk. Large trees and plants ground the space, while energetic music encourages creativity. In the New Artist Concept Salon or one of the five fully equipped spa rooms, guests can enjoy PENZONE services at a base price. Each salon station has been thoughtfully designed to move and flex for both day-to-day operations and for a variety of hands-on trainings and events. “The hands-on training is what recent cosmetology graduates crave, and they find that here, with real guests and the guidance and support of a PENZONE Creative Educator,” Debbie says. “Since we began offering these new customizable paths, we’ve seen more than a 68% increase in hair artists and a 200% increase in estheticians hired since June 2023. Guests can also hop into a LIT Life + Yoga class in the yoga studio, attend a training in one of the three event studios, record a podcast in the On Air Studio or snap social media content in one of the studio spaces. “All of these amenities are accessible to our team, our community, and the broader salon and spa industry and beyond,” stresses Debra. “We believe in the power of well-being, learning, creativity, and support, and that’s what we aim to make accessible within this concept.”
Now it is a space where people can come together to ground down and level up their careers and lives,” Debra says. “In one singular space, an individual can attend a cut and color class, a yoga session, a networking event, a podcast launch and more. Within its walls, you’ll also find our PENZONE New Artist Salon + Spa concept.” Years after moving their flagship grand salon out of the space, the PENZONES relocated their Innovation (corporate) office and Guest Experience Center into the loft space. Then, they began gutting and renovating the base level. Layers of red tape delayed the realization, including the proposition of a road being placed through the campus and the realization that they needed to move the load-bearing walls to accommodate the multifunctional vision of the space.

New Artist salon OF THE YEAR:
BASE ONE PENZONE Salon+Spa New Artist Concept
As the PENZONE Salons+Spas brand portfolio expanded (there are five salons and spas and a Royal Rhino Club Barbershop and Lounge around Columbus, Ohio), a dream began to emerge. Owners Charles and Debra Penzone wanted to create a space that supported not only their team, but the greater salon and spa industry, as well as the local community. That dream became a reality when BASE ONE was launched in April 2024. “We completely renovated the original Charles Penzone Grand Salon in Dublin, the concept that put us on the map in the 1960s,” Charles says.
With a training salon, treatment rooms, education and collaboration spaces, a podcast studio, and yoga studio, BASE ONE is the foundation for the future growth of PENZONE Salons+Spas, as well as the company’s gift to their community and the industry.
A Space to Ground Down and Level Up

Another defining feature is the school’s professional-grade photoshoot studio, which empowers students to develop portfolios, refine their editorial stills, and understand the visual storytelling that drives modern beauty culture. The inclusion of a retail boutique curated with the full range of Aveda products reflects the needs of wellness-minded clients who prioritize plant-powered beauty. The community and lounge spaces in the school reflect the soul of Dumbo—inviting, creative and collaborative. With sunlight filtering through tall windows and art lining the walls, these spaces encourage conversations between artists, students and guests. “We’re also deeply proud of our commitment to sustainability, most visibly represented through architectural elements crafted from Smile Plastics—innovative, supersized recycled plastic panels used throughout our countertops and design accents,” says Neill. “These sustainable materials are a direct expression of Aveda’s values, where beauty, wellness and environmental responsibility are inseparable.”
“What sets us apart begins with the purpose-built salon classrooms and hands-on education zones,” says Edwin Neill. “These are not simply training areas—they’re real salon environments outfitted with professional equipment, designed to replicate the guest experience students will deliver in the real world. This level of intention supports our educational mission and makes every client interaction feel elevated and authentic.”

Aveda Arts & Sciences Institute New York
Stepping into the Aveda Arts & Sciences Institute in the Dumbo neighborhood of Brooklyn feels like entering a living gallery of beauty, purpose, and possibility. Housed in the iconic 20 Jay Street building, just steps away from the waterfront and framed by Dumbo’s historic archways, this new campus seamlessly blends architectural character with modern innovation, creating an environment that mirrors the creativity and professionalism the school instills in every student and guest experience.
From the classrooms and educational zones to the sustainable materials used in the renovation of the historic building, Aveda Arts & Sciences Institute New York’s design reflects the creativity and professionalism the school instills in every student and guest experience.
A Purpose-Built Educational Concept
School of the Year
In the spa area, a Medical Treatment Room and a Holistic Doctor Suite offer professional consultations and cutting-edge wellness services that complement beauty. “Our pride and joy is our beautiful Himalayan Salt Room which is excellent for guests suffering from inflammation, eczema, asthma and compromised immune systems,” Glorioso says. With five manicure stations and five pedicure thrones, the light-filled Nail Room rounds out the one-stop beauty and wellness destination. Ventilation is built into the custom-designed, black-and-white nail stations to direct any fumes outside. Behind the scenes, each department has its own dispensary, complete with sinks, washers, dryers, and storage, which keeps the large operation running smoothly. Glorioso’s office is located next to the Leadership Room, where managers find the space to concentrate on operations. The Glam Room even has an elevated parking experience. “Each guest who books an appointment is texted directions and a unique code to open the door to the salon’s private, secured parking garage,” Glorioso says.
“With such a large footprint, our goal was to maintain a sense of intimacy and warmth while still maximizing functionality and flow,” he says. “We overcame this by strategically placing our Lather Lounge at the center of the salon, creating a natural hub that also divides the massive salon floor into two smaller, more personal spaces. To maintain symmetry and balance, we mirror key features on each side, including two fully equipped color bars.” What makes The Glam Room’s design sing is its seamless fusion of old and new. They were able to preserve the soaring ceilings, 19th-century woodwork and architectural integrity of the original building while breathing new life into it with modern amenities and trend-forward services. Glorioso’s personal collection of antique mirrors on the salon wall creates a gorgeous time capsule of beauty. Black and white images of real celebrities bring glam and beauty stories into the space.

The Glam Room Salon, Medical Spa, and Beauty Bar
The Glam Room Salon, Medical Spa and Beauty Bar found its new home in a building that once was the historic Phoenix Hotel, built in Kansas City in 1888. At nearly 13,000 square feet, the sheer size of the space was Owner Carl Glorioso’s biggest design challenge.
A historic hotel is reimagined into a multi-level salon, medspa and beauty bar in downtown Kansas City, Missouri.
Historic Charm Meets Modern Luxury

Guests are welcomed with a shimmering arrangement of chandeliers at the front desk, located within an upscale boutique that sells products, men’s and women’s apparel and accessories, including fanwear for the Kansas City Chiefs and Royals. A charming Juliet balcony creates a fun photo opportunity for guests, as well as a place for Santa to perch during the holidays. Clients ascend the split-level, winding staircase into The Glam Café which serves handcrafted lattes, signature cocktails and comfort foods. “It’s a place where beauty and hospitality intertwine, creating both a social and sensory experience,” Glorioso says.

When Ashley and Andreas Hogue were presented with the opportunity to take over an adjacent storefront, they realized a long-awaited dream of expansion. The resulting remodel enabled them to add 2,500 square feet of space, increase the number of stations, create a separate shampoo area, construct a third bathroom, and expand key areas, including the reception lounge, retail space, and break room.

“Approaching the salon, most people do not realize how large it is inside,” says Andreas. “The space is pie-shaped and expands widely as you walk from the front to the back. It reminds us of a technique that Frank Lloyd Wright used in many of his designs—the compress and expand principle. From the outside, we look small, but once you enter, you are met by an expansive and beautiful, light-filled space that evokes drama and splendor.” When first-time guests enter, they frequently are delighted by what’s behind the double doors. “We are greeted multiple times a day by a wide-eyed visitor looking around our sun-bathed interior and saying ‘Wow!’” Ashley adds.
To add light, the couple punched out the brick wall at the back of the building and added a sweeping wall of 10-foot windows. “We are fortunate that our salon backs up to a parcel of restored Chicago prairie, so our clients can gaze at wildflowers and a duck family in the summer and glistening snow in the winter," says Ashley. “Whatever the season, the colors outside are part of our space.”
One Delightful Design Discovery
Tucked away on the main floor, the shampoo area offers a distinct shift in mood, maintaining the same modern feel. The processing room is a relaxing space that gives a natural pause in their service, creating intentional downtime that that allows both clients and team members to reset and prepare for the next phrase in the process. It’s also a space that helps accommodate overlapping appointments effectively. “Our 1,000-square-foot breakroom includes a full kitchen and lounge for the stylists, as well as a perfectly organized color bar,” Kessler concludes. “It all adds up to a space that feels good to work in, and when that happens, the team shows up with more energy, creativity, and professionalism.”
On the salon floor, white stations, long oval mirrors, and taupe chairs create a clean, elevated look. Kessler points out, “They are spaced with intention, giving stylists room to move freely while providing discreet storage, reducing clutter, and encouraging organization.” Since the salon was built from the ground up, Kessler had the opportunity to design six treatment rooms that she currently rents out, allowing her to offer her guests more extensive wellness offerings without having to manage that part of the business with the same intensity as she does the salon. “We have a medical esthetician who does Botox and weight loss consulting, another esthetician who focuses on facials, a massage therapist, a nail artist, a brow artist, and a lash artist.”
Stepping through the salon’s doors, guests notice the thoughtfully designed entryway. A gorgeous stone wall climbs up toward the 16-foot ceilings, while exquisite lighting highlights the salon’s logo. Elegant built-in product shelves flank the wall, inviting guests to shop. “This entry is more than a transition space; it’s a showcase of premium haircare and beauty products we use every day,” Kessler says. A guest favorite is the new refreshment bar. Designed with clean marble counters and soft brass fixtures, this stylish and trendy nook is stocked with herbal teas, fresh-roasted coffee, water, and other beverages, as well as seasonal treats. “It’s our way of saying, 'You matter, and your time here should feel like a break from your everyday,’” she adds.
Mane 18 was designed to serve a client who values both style and substance. “These individuals typically want more than just a haircut, color or massage—they are looking for an elevated experience,” says Owner Kessler Davis. “They want a polished environment that feels like a bit of a retreat from their daily routine.” Kessler delivered with a salon design curated with both the client and her staff in mind, balancing a high-end, spa-like experience for the guest with the flow, comfort and efficiency needed for the team to work at their best.
Built from the ground up, Mane 18’s design strikes a balance between an elevated experience for guests and the functionality and flow necessary for team members to perform at their best.

The stainless steel color table is a signature element that serves as both a creative workspace and a guest relaxation space. Each seat is equipped with purse hooks and personal outlets, then crowned by eight overhead rollerball processors. “Our one-of-a-kind epoxy floor evokes a gallery-style sensibility—it’s durable, it’s modern, and it’s boldly abstract,” Bertani says. “Two colors were used at separate times. One was applied first and while the epoxy was wet, various tones were achieved by using a broom to swirl the pigment. It tells our guests, ‘This isn’t just a salon, it’s a destination.”
“We designed the salon with crisp white service zones complemented by a warm mocha hub that defines our retail, check-in, shampoo lounge and color-mixing bar,” Bertani says. “The visual contrast grounds the space, intentionally guiding clients through each phase of their visit. The monolithic styling stations are positioned parallel to the storefront, creating an architectural rhythm that’s visible from the curb. “The wraparound light inside the mirror flatters every guest, creating a cinematic styling experience,” Bertani says.
“From demolition to construction, we navigated complex plumbing, ventilation upgrades, and the inevitable surprise of inconveniently placed support columns,” says Owner Dominic Bertani. “But the challenge sparked creativity, and we leaned into intentional space planning, ensuring every square foot served both form and function. What felt like an obstacle became an opportunity to build smarter, work faster and serve better.” Bathed in natural and ambient light, the new salon immediately inspires creativity and delivers a refined, design-forward experience. The open floor plan provides effortless flow, allowing for clear sightlines across all service areas. This transparency creates a dynamic energy where guests feel connected and part of a space that breathes with movement and purpose.
Every transformation begins with a challenge, and the Dominic Michael Salon was no exception. Converting a former restaurant into a contemporary salon meant starting from the studs—literally.

To punctuate the space in front of the salon, the Hogues designed their own floral installation around the front door, which changes every few months to reflect the salon's mood and serve as an eye-catching botanical welcome. The installation is illuminated at night and draws the eye from a distance. Favorite design elements inside the salon include the use of mixed materials, such as brick, exotic wood, gorgeous tiles, stone, soft, floating lanterns, and unique high-end fixtures. “Guests love the dedicated shampoo room that features a carefully designed lighting experience, our 16-foot-long gold desk, and our open-concept color bar, which allows colorists to mix formula while facing the guests,” Andreas says. “And, our 30-foot-wide retail wall begs guests to shop our selection of specialty beauty products and gifts.” One of the most unique design elements was the brainchild of Designer Tess Millard, who created custom shelving that encircled structural poles that rise more than 20 feet. “Most designers would ignore these poles, but Tess embraced them and designed retail shelves around them, displaying items both high and low,” he adds. Even the salon’s bathrooms have become a ‘destination’ with realtors and design-minded folks flocking to see the wallpaper and flooring that the owners installed. “We really enjoyed working with Artistic Tile in Chicago’s Merchandise Mart to source our unique tile for our octagonal entryway, the checkerboard pattern in our shampoo room, and for all of our bathrooms, each of which has their own unique color palette and design,” Ashley says. “Many a selfie has been taken in the Andreas Hogue powder rooms!”

“One of the most exciting — and most challenging — aspects of our design was the integration of three state-of-the-art experience rooms purchased from Spa Visions in Germany: a Turkish Bath, an Experience Shower with Snowfall, and a Sabbia Med Room. These rooms are a defining feature of our spa and set us apart in the industry, but their installation required complex electrical and plumbing systems that went beyond standard salon buildouts. Our salon is designed to exude luxury in a welcoming way, with a fresh, modern aesthetic that feels both classic and contemporary. Everything is located on one open, accessible floor whose thoughtful flow was designed with both guest relaxation and team efficiency in mind.”

“When we first opened HAUS in 2014, the North Loop was in the midst of a transformation—raw, industrial spaces were being reimagined into vibrant residential and retail hubs, and we leaned into that spirit with exposed cement, steel, and floor-to-ceiling glass. To celebrate our 10th anniversary, we knew it was time to evolve. We honored the grit and structure of the original space while layering in warmth, elegance, and softness. We introduced rich walnut styling stations accented with marble and brass, added warm lighting, and incorporated earthy tones and softer textures into our waiting area. Lush greenery, layered textures, and modern organic materials brought balance to the space. Our design may be elevated, but it’s not intimidating—and neither is our team—we’re here for good hair, good vibes, and good people.”

“From the moment guests turn onto our seven-acre property, they know they’re entering a destination designed to surprise, delight, and elevate every aspect of their self-care experience. Outside the salon, a 37,0000-pound marble fountain nestled among 250 blooming rose bushes creates an unforgettable first impression. After parking, guests walk around our wraparound porch, where comfortable seating and beautiful views invite them to relax. Inside, the salon is revolutionary. We’ve custom-designed and fabricated our exclusive color processor setups that are integrated into the top of every styling station. This keeps guests comfortably seated while seamlessly transitioning from cut to color to style. The interior features high-gloss black and gold finishes, gleaming chandeliers, and tech-forward amenities. Beyond the salon walls is one of the most whimsical and beloved features, a boutique petting zoo where guests and their families can interact with Clydesdale horses and African ostriches.”

“Guests are drawn to our open Color Theatre, an inspiring space where color becomes a collaborative art form—here, clients don’t passively receive a formula, they help build it. In our serene Head Spa Room, the stress of everyday life melts away. In here, guests can indulge in scalp treatments, facials, and aromatic therapies that rejuvenate the senses. Attached is our award-winning Wash House, a space that features soft lighting, natural textures, and plush seating. Before or after their service, guests can relax in our elegant Bar and Lounge area, indulging in our bottomless Mimosas, the fabulous Bloody Mary Bar, or sipping a seasonal cocktail. “In our over 60 years in business, we’ve trained thousands of stylists in balayage, highlighting, and French cutting techniques. One of the elements of our design that conveys our emphasis on education is our decentralized waiting areas, which allow our guests to wait among the magic throughout the salon, making them feel part of the energy and excitement. The complimentary Customer Service Bar features full-sized Coca-Cola products, as well as a restaurant coffee machine. We stock this amenity with snacks for guests and lollipops for kids. Like an upscale Mexican restaurant that delivers the experience of table-side guacamole, our stylists utilize our open-door dispensary to gather the necessary ingredients for the service. However, we then mix our colors and balayage paint chair-side to elevate the experience. They love it when we pull back the curtain and show them the magic.”

“Our retail area invites guests to explore luxurious products, while a signature scent subtly infused into the waiting area envelops them in calm from the start. Our cozy lounge is designed for comfort—its plush seating and curated beverages reflect our commitment to making clients feel welcomed. I’m particularly proud of our sound-dampening design, which keeps our light and open salon floor serene, even when it’s bustling. With four stations, our makeup area harnesses natural light, and the space doubles as a counter-high, color-processing area where guests can work, read, or simply enjoy the view. The second-floor treatment rooms are dimly lit sanctuaries with customizable wall lighting that floods the space with the client's choice of colors. We’ve included a dedicated room for our soft pack float bed, and two of our rooms feature showers for body treatments and select massages.”

“With sleek, branded graphics and illuminated shelving, our custom retail area is a curated boutique experience that encourages exploration. Throughout the salon, our white oval illuminated mirrors at each station are both functional and visually impactful. Our custom stainless steel color bar is enhanced by vivid backlit graphics. We wanted this area to feel artistic, interactive, and transparent. The salon features soaring 20-foot ceilings that stretch across the space, flooding it with natural light. Every design element was chosen to enhance the client journey and differentiate us within the Southwest Florida market."

“Natural light streaming in from the ample windows creates a sense of openness and authenticity that sets a calming tone and communicates our focus on natural beauty. It allows true hair colors to be seen, and makes the salon feel more expansive. The overall aesthetic is a harmonious blend of neutral tones, natural textures, custom furniture, and thoughtful lighting. Our beautiful arched mirrors and custom-designed arched retail walls contribute to the calming environment. One of our clients’ favorite design features is our four Minerva Avant Backwash systems, which include built-in headrests and comfortable ottomans. The integration of many living plants throughout the space is a vibrant touch that reinforces the ‘Rooted’ brand in a tangible and beautiful way. “Our interior is defined by its modern, yet cozy, décor. Pampas grass brings in soft, organic movement, while textured chairs add depth and tactile richness, and cowhide rugs ground the space with a touch of rustic elegance. A standout feature is the set of custom gold circle mirrors at each styling station. The gold trim adds a luxurious finish, and the round shape offers a modern softness—they are statement pieces that tie the whole space together. We recognize that a visual presentation is key to attracting clients beyond our immediate location. That’s why we designed the salon with content creation in mind. The abundance of natural lighting ensures our photos and videos look bright and professional.”

“In collaboration with award-winning designer David Chenault, the space reflects the heartbeat of our brand: design-forward, relationship-centered, and unapologetically values-driven. Our front deskless model removes the physical and psychological barrier between the team and guests. One of the most talked-about spaces is our shampoo sanctuary, tucked beneath a glowing, softly lit dome. Overhead is our version of Botticelli’s “Three Graces,” while inspirational quotes wrap the edge of the ceiling to quietly uplift. Biophilic design brings the outside in with lush greenery—our space pulses with life. Color and art are everywhere: rainbow yarn sculptures, neon affirmations, and expressive murals that add vibrancy and soul. Our floral velvet chairs and eclectic decor blend softness with statement.”

“One of our favorite design elements is our elevated reception area—we created a boutique-style lounge that feels like a luxury hotel lobby. Plush, modern seating in soft, neutral tones invites you to relax. Each styling station features a custom-designed mirror framed in warm lighting. These mirror stations are spaced intentionally to create a sense of privacy and ease, allowing stylists to focus on personalized consultations and artistry. Positioned between the main studio and the shampoo area, our custom-made signature metal partition provides a gentle sense of separation. The artistic metalwork adds a modern, sculptural touch to the salon, maintaining the open, airy flow. Tucked behind a white door lies one unexpected design feature—our speakeasy-style bathroom with moody lighting, modern features, and a hint of glamour.

“Our salon is a space where modern luxury meets warmth and authenticity. Guests are greeted by a soothing, neutral palette enriched with natural wood tones and environmental accents, such as green plants and a striking moss selfie wall. Rather than traditional, individual workspaces, our stations are designed as one cohesive unit that emphasizes our strong team culture and makes collaboration seamless. “Our cozy seating area features a mid-century modern fireplace that creates a groovy glow from inside. As guests look around, they’ll see several repurposed light fixtures and chandeliers from the 1960s and 70s, all sourced from local antique dealers. The styling stations and the color application table are made by a local woodwork artist Eric Lanese. The Wash House is a quiet space in a separate glass room with calm music. Our restrooms are all selfie-worthy, with custom hand-painted fruit murals in each one. Every single salon chair is different and restored from many years ago—they’ve been repaired and reupholstered and create true originality and beauty within the space.
