Charlotte Pinto
Student (11th grade) Newton North High School
Pinto expresses her creativity through fine and performing arts. At school, she enjoys her Art Major 3 class, where she works with different mediums while listening to her favorite music — her current top artists are Rihanna and Mitski. Pinto notably worked as a SHINE muralist for the city of Newton’s FunFest and is a published author and illustrator in the Boston Globe’s Ideas section “Teens Speak” edition, where she portrayed learning about her Indian culture through food. When she’s not stressed over homework, Pinto works and performs in many of her high school's theater productions, her favorite being Nitrous Oxide: An Evening of Sketch Comedy. Yes, it’s like SNL. Pinto loves to write, edit, and perform her original comedic sketches for an audience. The C in Charlotte stands for Comedy. Read her “Teens Speak” graphic memoir here.
