Why mentorship matters
As an investor at Cambridge Associates, my goal is to deliver excellent returns for our clients by building best-in-class risk-adjusted portfolios.
By intentionally seeking out diverse perspectives and talents, we are aiming to increase the breadth of high-conviction investment opportunities for our portfolios with an eye towards better returns.
—Jasmine Richards, Head of Diverse Manager Research
Diverse managers as a source of talent
and opportunity
“One of my greatest mentorship experiences gave me insight into how best to develop as a professional, colleague, and friend. The mentor also helped me discover paths to reach my full potential in my work, personal life, and community-related passions.”
—Alex MacDonald, Senior Business Development Associate
Employee diversity by the numbers
The number of managers and investments shown includes client-directed investments where Cambridge Associates has not conducted full investment evaluation. Data as of December 31, 2023. We define diverse managers as firms that are a minimum 33% owned by women and underrepresented people of color. Note that in the Race/Ethnicity and Gender Breakdown, categories total to greater than 100% as some managers are counted in multiple categories.
Reflects full-time regular employees as of December 31, 2023. Workforce racial and ethnic identity data are gathered routinely, compliant with jurisdictional employment law. Such data are not available by law in some countries in which we are located. For this reason, this chart reflects our US and UK workforce only. Gender diversity represents US, UK, and Asia. We recognize that race, ethnicity, and gender represent partial measures of diversity within our community.
Our firmwide mentorship program, CA Ignite, connects colleagues across offices and functions, expanding networks and actively developing leadership and other skills.
“I have learned a lot about building authentic relationships from my mentor. Working with him in the Singapore office, I truly admire how he continues to invest in people he has crossed paths with, both today and in the past.”
—Benjamin Chong, APAC Lead for the Portfolio Implementation Management group
