6. Integrated teacher development
Teachers and students across the Middle East and North Africa told us that they wanted more opportunities to gain confidence in writing. This is why we’ve added a new Time to Write lesson in alternate units of EVOLVE SPECIAL EDITION. Students are guided through a process of research, planning, writing and evaluation to produce a variety of texts on topics that are meaningful to them.
Cambridge Life Competencies Framework
The Cambridge Life Competencies Framework has been created in response to educators who have asked for a way to understand how life skills, or 21st century skills, can be integrated into English language programmes. It is made up of six Competencies that describe how the essential skills develop and vary across different stages of education, as learners grow and change.
You can find information about the other competencies in the Cambridge Life Competencies Framework at cambridge.org/clcf

EVOLVE Special Edition features additional Get it right! sections focusing on some of the most common learner errors among Arabic speakers (based on research from the Cambridge Learner Corpus).
Corpus-informed content
Get it right! sections occur in even-numbered units and have been designed, using Cambridge Learner Corpus (CLC) data, to specifically focus on the language areas that Arabic-speaking learners have most difficulty with.

By anticipating those errors which CLC data tell us Arabic-speakers most often make, we can make sure learners are conscious of these pitfalls, and we can give them more help and practice in these particular areas.
