Social and emotional development
Learners are asked to identify the emotions that the characters in the stories experience and their own emotional response to it. The Literature feature of the course helps students become more independent by introducing them to vital learning strategies and techniques.
Exam preparation and practice are naturally embedded in every unit to familiarise learners with activity structures, tasks types and strategies to complete exams successfully.
This literature spread is seen in each unit of the course from level 1. It fosters a love of literature, practises a variety of reading skills and embraces social and emotional learning.
Videos support language learning
Research proves that teachers and learners love audio visual material both as a learning aid and to motivate learners, therefore video is an integral part of each unit. A unit opener video to introduce the unit topic, activate prior knowledge and help establish both class and individual learning objectives.

Collaborative Learning
Collaborative real-life activities, prepared in stages, open and close every unit. After each stage the learners reflect on their learning and do a self-evaluation in the Activity Book. As they complete each stage they tick off the check list to see their progress.
Cross-curricular learning
Cross-curricular lessons focus on the language needed to understand natural and social sciences and to complete the unit Mission. Documentary-style videos extend the topic as children broaden their knowledge of subjects, countries and cultures around the world.
Power Up has been developed with a new, integrated approach to the Cambridge Exams. Learners are gently introduced to exam-style tasks.

Presentation Plus The software is available both online and offline and enables teachers to present the Student’s Book and Workbook with interactive exercises and games.
Teacher’s Resource Bank Online Resources featuring extra language and skills practice worksheets. It includes all video and audio files and audio scripts.
Downloadable Test Generator from Cambridge One website This a digital test tool that helps teachers create unit tests, review tests and end of level tests. For every test teachers can select ready made tests or select the questions from the bank and create their own unique tests. All tests are downloadable with model answers and audio files for the listening section.
Power Up Special Edition employs a systematic approach to language learning in which the learner and the teacher are in partnership. The opening page shows the Learning outcomes, which is what we hope to achieve with the learners over the lesson. The next section highlights the examples of self-assessment activities that can be done.
