“Since my students started using the program, I noticed good improvements in their listening skills which are most likely to be the ones they have more trouble with. They told me that it helped them build confidence when speaking in English. I can say it is a helpful and effective program that teachers can use to reinforce students’ needs.”
Preparing for CASAS
Ventures drives learning gains by covering the topics found on CASAS Life and Work tests with listening and reading activities specifically designed to prepare students for the questions on the test.
Emphasis on key vocabulary, multiple exposures to the listenings, and practice activities to speak and listen in a personalized, collaborative way builds skills that promote proficiency as students prepare for the CASAS listening tests.

Online CASAS test prep – Study and Succeed for CASAS Life and Work Listening and Reading
Measuring learning gains, typically defined by increased scores on standardized tests, is important for Adult Education ESL programs to show student progress in order to obtain funding. Study and Succeed, a new online CASAS test prep, can be used in addition to Ventures or on its own. Practice questions that replicate the CASAS test and tips to equip students with test-taking skills and strategies lead to improvement in their scores.

Maria DiLuigi, Hillsborough County Schools
“I was very happy to see that students were extremely engaged and motivated. When using the product, no students had to be reminded to stay on task. Several students would ask me to post additional assignments for them to complete. This is the first time I have had students so motivated and engaged with a lab product. I believe that because Study and Succeed looks and sounds like the CASAS test, students saw the benefit in using it for practice.”
Stephanie Turro, Brewster Technical College
“I used specific objectives that I needed to cover as well as objectives that were problematic as indicated on the CASAS Test Student Performance Reports with whole group, small group, and individual remediation. The introductory information for each objective is concise and the following 3 practice items provided ample opportunities to discuss, teach, and extend. As highly focused and engaging CASAS practice items are difficult to piece together, the Study and Succeed Program is an incredible timesaver for ESOL teachers!
Dan Hromalik, Adult ESOL Instructor, School District of Hillsborough County, FL
