Tell us more about
your journey with
Carter Jonas so far.
I have now been with Carter Jonas for over 3 years and have recently been promoted to Group Partner. Since joining the firm, my role has now expanded to include transactions out of the Oxford, Newbury and Winchester offices and with assistance from the wider team we have worked to increase the turnover of property transactions both geographically
and by type. The agency work has developed enough to require additional assistance across the region at peak times with our client base including private individuals, institutions, charities and framework clients.
What does a typical day look like for you and what work are you involved in?
As I am involved in agency and across a wide region, a typical day can be very varied; often it will involve dealing with overnight property enquiries from the website and other portals, circulating particulars or responding to queries. Particulars need drafting for new launches and this is then put onto a centralised system that manages web portal exposure, applicant
Whilst I am quite specialised in what I do there is a variety of work and property types in each sector so no day is the same. It can be a 500-acre farm on the Isle of Wight on Monday, a country house on Wednesday and a paddock on Friday!
contacts and offers. We may visit a property to appraise it or meet a photographer to allow access. Viewings are of course a key part of our work, meeting prospective parties at a property. If a property is sold we may liaise with buyers and solicitors, banks or other parties during the sale process. In my particular role I do a lot of client management – keeping them up to date on progress of the marketing.
What do you love about Carter Jonas the most?
Everyone is given the responsibility to get on with the jobs in hand, knowing that if guidance or assistance is required then it is readily available.

What attracted you to Carter Jonas?
The Carter Jonas rural team in Yorkshire have an excellent reputation regionally, with a very strong client base. This was one of the main attractions to joining.
What does a typical day look like for you and what work are you involved in?
There is no typical day, which does make the job interesting! Generally there is a good mixture of time out of the office meeting clients and inspecting properties, and time spent in the office meeting with colleagues or writing reports.
A good proportion of my time is spent with assisting clients in growing their businesses through the use of AMC funding, which comprises meetings to gather the necessary information together with understanding what they are looking to achieve and how they intend to get there. Our role as an AMC agent is providing a detailed application (often within tight timescales!), to allow the proposal to be fully assessed by the credit underwriters.

What do you love about Carter Jonas the most?
Having the full support of the partners in the work that I do, together with the knowledge that if guidance or assistance is needed it is readily available.
