I’ve been working at Carter Jonas for almost 4 years as an Apprentice in the valuation team in Leeds. I am in my final year of study at University College of Estate Management and have begun the two year APC process with the hope to be sitting in Autumn 2022.
During my time at Carter Jonas, I have been involved in numerous commercial and residential valuations, which are required by a diverse range of clients for purposes such as loan security. The apprenticeship has helped me develop skills in communication and time management, as balancing my full-time role with university life has been key throughout the process.
The course material is relevant to the work I carry out on a day-to-day basis and I enjoy the fact that I regularly apply the skills and knowledge gained from university work directly to my role within the valuation team.

I began my Apprenticeship as a Business Administrator within the Contract Management Team in October 2019.
My line manager Jackie Hayden was keen for me to have an in-depth understanding of the teams operating within the Birmingham office, so my time was structured to be spent circulating the office, working with a wide range of teams from Geospatial, Mapping and Infrastructures to Facilities Management for which I am now a permanent member. By having these opportunities and a structured learning plan put in place by Carter Jonas I was able to complete my LV 3 Business Administrator apprenticeship in one year.
Working alongside experienced professionals has helped me develop skills key to working in a business environment. All staff are approachable and keen to see you grow as an individual. For that, I would recommend Carter Jonas to anyone looking to advance their career.
