For over two decades, Francisco de la Torre has spurred Malaga’s reinvention as a hotbed of culture, tourism and economic growth. A sociologist and agricultural engineer, he made his political debut in 1971 as president of Malaga’s provincial government. Under his watch, the city has experienced tremendous growth, becoming a role model for sustainable urbanism and the application of new technologies.
