WINNER
MOO
The small team at MOO believe that being in-house gives them a uniquely informed take on the company and allows them to be involved in virtually all of its creative output. MOO is known for its paper-based customisable products, but this year it branched out, launching the Red Dot award-winning Water Bottle.
The change required a fresh look at the company’s brand and design, which resulted in tighter close-ups, interesting angles, and more texture and shadows, according to MOO. 3D design and animation were also a part of its new creative approach.
MOO aimed to put greater emphasis on sustainability with its new packaging, also designed in-house. The company hope that, with the development of a new online platform and new products, the team of designers and creators will continue to shape the company in a positive way.
The judges said: “Excellent work, modern and distinctive. Makes print-on-demand look professional and polished.”

Penguin Creative
Penguin Creative is an in-house design team at Penguin Random House, which aims to innovate the brand through design, illustration, video production, photography and campaign creatives.
In an effort to reinvigorate the tired online visual identity of the brand, Penguin Creative redesigned its social media, website, author and book photography and YouTube channel, taking inspiration from early Penguin paperbacks.
The design team says that Penguin Random House now has a confident and consistent visual identity online that resonates with its audience. This involved making a new visual style guide for the Penguin brand online with typography guidelines, a new colour pallet and design principles.
Penguin Creative also re-designed new lighting and editing standards. Since the rebrand, Penguin Random House has seen a massive increase in views, likes, shares and subscribers.

The team pride themselves on how they adapted to new ways of working remotely on live programmes and projects. It was also particularly happy with its creation of an on screen QR code, which enabled viewers to pledge their time to campaigns with ease and increased viewer interaction.
