The Student-Success Challenges Ahead
As universities recover from the pandemic, they must contend with the difficult task of attracting and retaining students. In the midst of the new norm, colleges and universities must also decide where and how to direct their resources in order to assist students in successfully completing their degrees.
Students' demands range widely, citing issues ranging from poor mental health to basic needs insecurity, such as affordable housing and food. Modern campuses, far from leaving students to fend for themselves, must take a holistic approach to the needs of the whole student, including mental health counselors, academic advisers, student-affairs officials, faculty members, and financial-aid officers.
