MCP provides an intuitive display of the ROADM line performance relative to plan, indicating which lines are performing according to plan, which lines are performing better and can be upgraded, and which lines are under-performing and have a problem. The Network Operations Center (NOC) can then take action to investigate and fix potential issues on ROADM lines with low margin.

Photonic Performance Gauge determines the change in SNR relative to the planned SNR across every ROADM line, and then informs MCP in the Software Control and Automation layer.

Photonic Performance Gauge (part of the Liquid Spectrum family of applications) retrieves real-time performance metrics from the photonic line system and performs analysis of the linear and non-linear impairments to accurately determine the Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR) across every ROADM line in the network, without the need for active transponders.
