Laughing is great for your heart. In fact, it can increase blood flow by 20%.
Your heart does the most physical work of any muscle during a lifetime, and it’s constantly pumping energy throughout your body. Even though your heart could weaken from certain conditions, it will never fatigue.
Atmospheric pressure often drops right before bad weather sets in. This change in pressure could cause body tissue to expand, which can lead to swelling and pain.

2. Warning signs
Fact: Some women don’t have any signs or
symptoms at all, which is why screenings are so
important. Still, some women do experience
symptoms, so it’s important to know what they are.
Act: Be familiar with how your breasts normally look and feel, and report any changes to a health care provider right away.
Some warning signs can include:
• New lump in the breast or underarm (armpit)
• Thickening or swelling of part of the breast
• Irritation or dimpling of breast skin
• Redness or flaky skin in the nipple area or the breast
• Pulling in of the nipple or pain in the nipple area
• Nipple discharge other than breast milk, including blood
• Any change in the size or the shape of the breast
• Pain in any area of the breast
3
Remember: These symptoms can happen with conditions other than cancer too. So don’t panic. If you have any signs or symptoms that worry you, be sure to see your doctor right away.
3. Lead a healthy lifestyle
Fact: Studies show that your overall health and
certain unhealthy habits can increase your
risk of developing breast cancer.
Act: You may be able to help lower your risk of breast cancer by making simple healthy lifestyle changes, such as:
4
• Getting to and staying at a healthy weight
• Being physically active
• Limiting alcohol consumption
• Avoiding tobacco

3. Lead a healthy lifestyle

WEEK
October 17–23
1. Create a routine
Take medications with an activity you do at the same time every day, such as brushing your teeth.
2. Set a reminder
Use your cell phone or watch to set an alarm to remind you to take your medication. Or, go old school with a sticky note in a place you’ll be sure to see.
3. Keep it visible
Avoid an “out of sight, out of mind” situation by keeping your medication in a place that’s easy to spot, such as your nightstand or kitchen counter.
4. Track your doses
A pill box, calendar or medication journal can be a great tool to help you keep track of your doses and prevent double doses.
5. Carry extra doses
Keep some extra doses in a bag or purse you use often, just in case you’re away from home or you forget to take your medication before you leave.
Need help with managing your medications?
Cigna Medical Group can provide the added support you need. Call your local Cigna Medical Group Pharmacy to learn more: 800.233.3264.
