The benefits of hugging go beyond that warm feeling you get when you hold someone in your arms. Scientists say that giving another person support through touch can reduce the stress of the person being comforted – and even reduce the stress of the person doing the comforting.
Heavy drinking can be linked to a number of poor health outcomes, including heart conditions. Excessive alcohol use can lead to high blood pressure, heart failure or stroke. It can also contribute to cardiomyopathy, a disorder that affects the heart muscle.

Out-of-pocket costs for prescription medicines can really add up. The good news is that there are many ways to save money on drug costs. These include choosing a quality generic version of the same drug, requesting 30-day to 90-day prescription refills for maintenance medications and having prescriptions delivered free of charge right to your door.
Medications only work if you take them, and you can’t take them if you can’t afford them. Here are five ideas to get you started on saving.

February is American Heart Month, a time to focus on heart disease, the number-one killer of Americans. Every year, Americans suffer more than 1.5 million heart attacks and strokes. To help reduce your risk and improve your heart health, we suggest following the “ABCS.”
Think heart healthy during American
Heart Month.
A. Take aspirin as directed by your health care provider.
C. Manage your cholesterol.
Ask your provider if aspirin can reduce your risk of having a heart attack or stroke.
Your body needs cholesterol, but when you have too much, it can build up in your arteries and cause heart disease.
Smoking raises your blood pressure, which increases your risk for heart attack and stroke.
S. Don't smoke.
Find out what your blood pressure numbers are, and ask your provider what those numbers mean for your health.
B. Control your blood pressure.
