Here's how a typical journey might look
This process can often be long and confusing — and for someone already needing support, it can feel frustrating and fruitless.
Michael searches on Google for a mental health provider. He finds a therapist, but they don't accept insurance.
1.
After more searching and calling, he locates a therapist who does accept insurance but doesn’t have an appointment for three months. Another therapist has availability, but their office is a long way from the employee's work and home.
Still another therapist is close by, but only has appointments on weekday afternoons, which conflicts with the employee's work schedule. After reading discussions online, he isn’t sure whether he needs talk therapy or antidepressants (or both).
After weeks with no resolution in sight, Michael gives up. As his burnout worsens, so does his performance at work.

She's connected with a licensed telephonic clinician and is relieved to know she's not alone
in experiencing feelings of burnout.

Sara decides to find a therapist on the myCigna app, which considers factors including her age, why she’s seeking therapy, and the type of therapy she’s looking for. She’s able to select her preference of virtual or in-person care delivery options — and matches with a therapist who has available appointments, right from her mobile phone.

Throughout her journey, Sara's clinical navigator continues to reach out to check on her progress and encourages her to voice any concerns, so she feels supported and connected.
Sara notices that her symptoms gradually begin to improve with therapy, and she becomes more engaged and productive at work.

Providers are solely responsible for any treatment provided to their patients. Video chat may not be available in all areas or with all providers. This service is separate from your health plan’s network and may not be available in all areas. Virtual care does not guarantee that a prescription will be written. Refer to plan documents for complete description of virtual care services and costs, including other telehealth/telemedicine benefits. For IL customers a primary care provider referral may be required for specialist virtual visits.
