The Autumn Selector Symposium will bring together the leaders of product selection and due diligence from within Asia's leading private banks, independent asset managers and family offices to debate and examine the latest product trends and client expectations as we move into the second half of the year.
With covid still stretching its long tentacles around every market, albeit with differing levels of impact, the variance in recovery and growth opportunities is expected to widen into 2022. In Asia, the equity wave seems to have broken, or at least receded, driven in part by policy changes from Beijing towards its tech champions, which has impacted pricing volatility and caused clients to reach out to their bankers for guidance and succour.
Where will opportunities be found in the return to a new normal? Join us for a powerful and productive conversation with your peers as we debate what lies ahead for clients and their investment portfolios.

Portfolios and priorities -
Excelling in uncertainty
Diversification, long-term thinking and professional advice have all shown their timeless and universal value over the past year. Yet the relentless evolution of client demand continues, with clients seeking more diverse investment opportunities including private markets and alternatives, which they are increasingly evaluating against a more holistic returns framework that includes ESG and SDG parameters.
As bankers sit with their clients to evaluate their portfolios post-summer, does the spectre of inflation loom large over client portfolios? How have expectations and access to alternative assets expanded during the pandemic? Which investment themes and asset classes will deliver the next phase of global growth?

The current market environment is leading investors across the globe to seek an alternative to traditional equity and fixed income investments. This pursuit is creating a secular shift towards increased investment in real estate which also serves as an inflation hedge. Join us as we discuss how REITs offer a relatively unique combination of yield, stability and growth that can provide downside protection as well as upside value creation. Based upon an analysis of its historical performance, REITs has demonstrated a proven ability to add total returns relative to stocks and bonds, outpacing all other asset classes since the turn of the century.

Rebuilding and rebalancing -
The new pathway forward
Asian clients and their trusted bank advisors have come through the greatest period of global uncertainty in the last half century in much better shape than all imagined possible in the darkest days of early 2020. While developed world markets have proved resilient, the virus has left an indelible legacy on clients, their world views, family priorities and investment portfolios.
How have the best private banks rebalanced and grown their relationships with clients through these tough times? Has it triggered Asian clients to more genuinely think long-term to embrace difficult legacy, wealth planning and sustainability issues?
How are the capabilities and competencies of private banks evolving to suit client demand post the pandemic?
Panellists:
Edmund Yun - Head of Investment Solutions, North Asia, EFG Bank
Garth Bregman - Head of Investment Services, Asia Pacific,
