We are working closely with our host venue on Covid safe measures as we return to physical events and the in-person engagement that we have all missed. Our Covid protocols will reflect the local requirements at the time of the event and our Delegate Liaison team will be in touch in the weeks before with exact details of what these will be. Citywire Private Office retreat 2022
It’s that time of year again! With the Citywire Private Office Retreat now firmly established in the calendar of many family offices, this is your personal invitation to join them, and us, on 15-16 September 2022 at Pennyhill Park in Surrey.
This is the fifth Private Office Retreat – we’ve gone from strength to strength over the years and we couldn’t have done it without the support of the family office community. This year promises to be a true vintage event, with a stellar line-up of speakers, content and cutting-edge investment strategy.
We have a limited number of spaces available so be sure to register ASAP if you would like to participate. There is no charge for attending (which is strictly by invitation only) and you will earn eight hours of structured CPD.
Once again we will bring together a select group of key figures in the family office world for a day and a half of insightful conversation in fund manager led workshops, all contextualised by our three keynote speakers. In addition there is of course the opportunity to connect with your family office peers.
Our keynote speakers:
We open on Thursday morning with an up-to-the-minute geopolitical deepdive courtesy of award winning journalist John Kampfner. John has had a 25-year career in international affairs including his time as chief political correspondent at the Financial TImes and as political commentator for BBC Newsnight. It’s safe to say that he is an expert on geopolitics and he’ll look at the current landscape in his talk entitled: Reasons to be worried… And reasons to be cheerful.
Thursday afternoon I will be in conversation with former diplomat Tom Fletcher - and so will you! This will be an interactive session where you will be able to question Tom on a number of subjects, drawing on his experience as the foreign policy advisor to Blair, Brown and Cameron, before becoming British Ambassador to Lebanon (at the age of 36). He will look at the nature of leadership and diplomacy in the digital age and consider the 21st-century survival skills we need as states, businesses and individuals.
Friday morning we’re in for a real treat when we will hear from Sam McAlister, a former barrister turned interviews producer for Newsnight. She has negotiated with everyone from Buckingham Palace to the White House and most notably led negotiations for Emily Maitlis’ ground-breaking interview with Prince Andrew which made headlines across the world. Don’t miss this masterclass in negotiation.
In addition, you will attend 10 fund strategy workshops with leading fund managers, the details of which will be released a little nearer the time.
On behalf of the whole Citywire team, I do hope you will be able to join us for our annual family office gathering. See you in September.
Best,
We're happy to
